I don't think the movie tie-ins are going anywhere. I also don't think they need to. However, I would like to see the mist screen used as something other than a movie tie-in in exchange for an AA Davy Jones.

I agree Disneyland Traveler. It is and will always be my favorite ride in the park.
I actually love the mist screen.
Also, I've felt this since I was a kid: The best part of the ride to me (the drops) are at the beginning and the ending of the ride is kind of anti-climactic. You go up a large conveyor belt and the ride is over.
Anyone else feel this way? Don't get me wrong, the ride itself, despite the Depp makeover, is a classic.
I just wish...that during the Halloween Events (or AP events) they switched the ride to classic mode....and just had the original dialogue (or at least take the jack stuff out) and turn off the mist screen....and let us fan enjoy the old ride...that's all i ask

Screw the compromise! Just bring it back to its original glory. With updated effects and all. The first POTC film was good, but the sequels were very forgetable (and I saw most of them in the theaters!), like the Star Wars prequels. I also can't stand Johnny Depp at all. A very overrated actor in my opinion.

I like the first two Jacks, but the third one should be removed. The last scene should either have the pirate balancing on the gunpowder barrels back, or do a completely new scene with modern technology. Something to act as a grander finale.
The mist screen is a neat effect, and I love how you just appear in the ship battle after passing through ; but I hate Blackbeard's projection and the dang thing plays far too often. You hear it 3 times in that blasted tunnel.
