Three Rides

[Syndrome]

People have different ideas of what needs to be addressed at the park. What rides do you think need to be rethemed, improved, or replaced? This is not a question of what rides need regular maintenance. Which rides do you feel fit the following:

1) Rethemed-Ride is fine, but theme should be addressed
2) Improved-Ride could use some new scenes, AA's, ride-system, etc...
3) Replaced-Ride needs to be replaced by something new/better

For me:

1) Jumpin' Jellyfish should be rethemed to Up, and it would fit the new theme of the pier better.
2) Jungle Cruise. One of my favorite rides but I would like some new material/scenes.
3) Innoventions. I think that's self-explanatory.

Replace Innoventions
Improve/Retheme Autopia or else replace it if it can't be.
Retheme Tom Sawyer's Island...as in be done with the pirate fad.

2) Yeah, definitely improve the AA's on the Jungle Cruise, they look very dated.
3) Innoventions with a ride. Don't care what it is, just so long as something replaces innoventions.

I asked my children this question so here is the 9 to 13 year old demographic:

Improve Whinnie the Pooh
Improve (more AAs) Pirates of the Caribbean
Improve (modernize) Soarin'

As you can see...somewhat different from dear old dad.

1) Animation could use a new facade that matches the rest of the street.
2) Soarin' needs some work, such as new projectors and image stabilization in some scenes.
3) Captain EO. It has lasted far longer than it should have.

I could easily list several for each category, but I think that these are my top three:

1) (Retheme) Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, hands down. The actual submarines are a pretty neat addition to Tomorrowland, but the Nemo theme is awful.
2. (Improved) Soarin' Over California. Fix the spots, add new footage, new effects, etc. I love the idea of the ride but it's desperately in need of attention.
3) (Replace) I'm pretty much with you on Innovations. That space could be used for something much better.

I fail to see how Up fits the theme of the pier.

I fail to see how Up fits the theme of the pier.

I have to agree. I don't see how "Up" (as good a film as it was) fits the theme of a 1930s era boardwalk/pier. Actually for the type of ride it is and where it sits, the ocean/jellyfish theme works ok there.

1) Improve Snow White's Scary Adventures.
2) Re-theme Autopia.
3) Improve The Tiki Room.

1. Change theme for Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage to look more realistic and scientific.
2. Jungle Cruise, add new show scenes and change the current spiel.
3. Remove the Golden Zehyr, I don't see the point in this ride as it is very short lasting, replace it with a better carnival ride

1) Soarin' Over California - needs to be rethemed. I think Soarin' Over the World would be cool. The only argument against it is that would mess up the California theme.
2) Haunted Mansion - I personally would love this ride to be scarier but I know it will never happen. They can't make it too scary for kids.
3) Innovations - needs to be replaced by something new/better

1) Retheme Tarzan's Treehouse to Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.
2) Improve Pirates of the Caribbean by burning all Johnny Depp A-A's, destroying all Davy Jones Mist Projections, and bringing back all original dialoge and audio.
3) Replace Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage with 20K Leagues under the Sea.

Soarin' Over California - needs to be rethemed. I think Soarin' Over the World would be cool. The only argument against it is that would mess up the California theme.

There's still plenty of interesting places in California to showcase on the ride. While the attraction needs new footage among other updates, I don't think it's necessary to branch outside from the state to improve the ride.

Improve Soarin' (IMHO I'd be happy if it was just restored to it's original state.)
Replace Captain EO
Replace Autopia systems with electric for the vehicles.

I also agree that Autopia needs a refurb.
