Question About Free Parking for MHP

Does anyone know how early you can park for free with a ticket to the Halloween party? I'm planning to go a few hours early on 10/19 to eat in Downtown Disney, but I'm not sure whether to park there or in a DL parking lot. I'd rather not have to move the car if I can help it, and I can't find an answer to this question anywhere.

You can park for free all day. We arrived at the resort last year at park opening, showed our tickets for that night's party, and got into Mickey and Friends.

A CM told me that due to numerous requests, party tickets are good for all day parking.
