Maybe its just a spruce up with new safety features and a better interactive que area? I could also see the whole photo thing as well. Surprised Matterhorn didnt get one haha

It's being changed to Rapunzel's Runaway Rollercoaster. That way Fantasyland can encroach into Frontierland as much as it is on Main Street. Gotta even up the landscape you know....

If they do that, I'm never going to Disneyland again.

Don't worry, they're compensating by expanding the east side of Main Street by a greater amount than they are taking out. 2015! Even More Main Street Than You Ever Had Before!

Awwww, lol. I figured it was going to be closed around then, but our trip starts TWO DAYS LATER, lol. That makes it feel worse. Oh well. I'm sure the improved ride will be a treat when I make my next trip a year or two from now!

Disney is probably going to replace the whole track, new rock work, new lightning, better modern safety regulations, earthquake effect will be fixed and restored. The trains will be replaced as well, all the audio animatronics will be face-lifted and the sound system will be replaced with a newer one. BTMRR will be more reliable and less downtime.
I'm thinking the same thing. Being down for almost a year has got to mean they're going to be doing more than just "sprucing up". I only hope and pray they don't re-fashion the trains with "new and improved" seating like the Matterhorn!

Totally OK with this. The ride seems to break down 3-400 times a day. Shut it down and give it the updates and work it needs done.

Also, let's get those doors opening again and the "falling" rock effects back now, too!

Maybe they'll rework the queue to handle ECVs and Hummer-sized strollers.

That's been talked about, I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of the refurb.

Glad for the refurb, wouldn't it be nice if Disney actually listed out what was being refurbished (i.e fixed/replaced/added, etc) when they stated the downtimes.

Aww, boo! I was hoping to ride this after I had my baby, but blast! It'll be closed before she's born.

And for 10 months! ACK! :-/

Well as long as they add some new effects to the ride...then I'm cool with this....rides need to go down to look there best...like Splash....after the last time they replaced most of the plants and the ride's looks the best it's ever been
