Wow cool
but I feel bad for the fish![]()
I can hear Elton John right now singing "The Circle of Life"......
Doctor: We're too exposed everywhere. And Amy can't move. And besides, that's not the plan.
River: There's a plan?
Doctor: I don't know. I haven't finished talking yet.
Joke's on him. That fish was animatronic.
What kind of a bird is that? I don't think I've seen it before.
Great capture on the pictures however! Thats really being in the right place at the right time and having the camera ready! No idea what kind of bird it is but we have some savvy MiceChatters who I'm sure will know. The first thing I thought of was a kingfisher but I'm not sure if we have those in So Cal.
Question: What kind of bird?
Answer: Hungry.
This has been a Filmways presentation dahling.
The bird looks like a kingfisher. I think that's what they're called. Nice photos! When I clicked on this thread I didn't think I'd actually find pictures of fish getting caught LOL!
Princess of Agrabah and Queen of Never Land
I agree that it looks somewhat like a Kingfisher, but it doesn't look like a Belted Kingfisher to me, which is the one I'm used to seeing that has its habitat in California. But I'm not an ornithologist by any means.
"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."
The bird is a Green Heron and the fish was a small catfish. I've photographed them several times in the park.
GREAT Shots by the way.
Life is far too short for bland food!

cool pics! and better then the 5 baby ducks I saw a harron eat one day at that same park.
BGood! It's not just my motto its my name!
I love those Green Herons, they are fantastic birds.
And yes, I get soooo sad when I see other types of Herons eat the baby ducks. It's really upsetting because there will be nine ducklings and then the next day, there's three.![]()
Who knew that in the 50's, you could actually fish for catfish on Tom Sawyers Island, and take what you caught home with you? Very strange, but very true.
