Re: POLL -Will YOU be renewing your AP?

I would renew...the only reason I am not is because I am going to be leaving out of state for two years and will not have a chance to do during that time.

I just bought my first AP last week. I will most likely be renewing again, when it expires. Then again, that depends on the price hike.

I will do what I do every year. Is it going to be a year I'll be able to go a lot? Do I have any other big ticket items to buy? Can I justify the price increase?

In the end, I'm sure I'll get one, but I do think about it quite a bit first.

Re: POLL -Will YOU be renewing your AP?

I have always taken a two-year break between passes, I see no reason not too again. So come next September, it's adios muchachos ..... maybe in another three years they'll have something new .....

We don't expire until August, 2013.

If we don't renew, it won't be due to AP prices, but the cost of traveling to be able to go to DLR, and changes in our finances.

I thought I would keep it cut and dry. Either people will not renew or they will renew and will state their reasons why. I guess I could have added yes or no to the get an AP at another theme park choice.

Yes, but not renewing. Getting a new one on the trip after my current one expires.

While the prices did go up, they go up every year so I wasn't surprised.

planning to renew in March 2013. this is the first year that I have had a Premium pass. I may switch back to Deluxe. I use the Disney reward dollars to pay for part of the cost. dividends from The Walt Disney Company pays for the rest and some of the hotel and travel cost.

Re: POLL -Will YOU be renewing your AP?

I answered "I will get AP's to other parks".

But that's something we usually do anyways, we just aren't getting Disney ones on top of the Six Flags, Knott's, Universal passes we usually get anyway. We could pay that amount, but the value for us just isn't there anymore.

Re: POLL -Will YOU be renewing your AP?

I'm going to have to think about it very seriously. I wasn't pleased with the price increases this year, and I don't really have anything to which I can downgrade. I have Southern California, so the only pass lower than mine is Southern CA Select, and that pass is blocked out so many days that it's completely useless, IMHO.

I am also displeased by a lot of what I've read here: taking away the cast Christmas party, plans to charge for holiday parades/fireworks/etc., twenty nights of candlelight, etc. Disney is a business, not a non-profit, and their goal has always been to make as much bank as they can. Doing that at the expense of employees and guests? No.

On the other hand I applauded Disney's "Brave" this year (a princess who kicks tail and doesn't wait around for a prince!) and I like some of the advances at the park, like the increased use of Big Thunder Ranch.

I don't know, then. I'll have to see. One part of it is that I prefer Disney to the other parks as an escape. Knotts doesn't have the same immersive environment and Universal doesn't have as much to do.

I will keep renewing until it is no longer fun to go.

Re: POLL -Will YOU be renewing your AP?

I already dropped down to the lowest level of pass, because of the price increases. I don't think it's worth it next year. It's just too expensive.
