Re: POLL -Will YOU be renewing your AP?

My wife and I will likely not be renewing our Premium passes when it comes up in January.

We used to go to dance on Saturday nights at Carnation Plaza, and while Disneyland management have said they plan on bringing back the bands on Saturday nights, we don't know for sure if that is going to happen.

Without that, the value proposition isn't as great to us.

We will wait and see if the Princess Fantasy Faire theater returns with live bands; if not, this will likely be the last year for us.

As mush as I hate to say this, but after years and years of having a pass or working there. I may not have a pass for the first time. it's still up in the air. My mom, who live in another state had one for years and brothers) who come a few times a year, sometimes once or twice for a few weeks at a time. She also is rethinking renewing herself. And now sadly not getting one makes me very sad and for my family who comes not wanting the park to be closed to private pay parties the times they can get away. at that time of year they do a lot of private events for large company events.

Here is a thought: why not have it at DCA?

Re: POLL -Will YOU be renewing your AP?

I renewed my pass in September but now think it was a mistake. The monthly cost is really high and the last couple months I have not been able to get to the park. The hot weather and the last time I was there it was so crowded. I am now thinking that even with the extra cost one pays with a cost per visit than an AP, I think it might be cheaper for me in the long run.

I hope to renew again when the experience becomes more amazing than the prices asked. With too many corners now cut, too much creativity and service compromised plus the incessantly dumbed-down concepts of fun, it's just no longer the whole package worth paying upfront for. The big problem is that I will never wake up and decide its a great day to go spend $200. for a day at the park (forget asking family or friends to join you there, its embarrassing to say how much that would cost them), so when will I ever visit my favorite place on Earth again? I don't know, it's saddening....ironic for "the happiest place".

I just got mine a week ago so it's definitely too soon to tell. A large part of it will depend on how many times I actually get to go in the next 12 months. At this point thought it's not worth it for me to buy them for my boys because the younger one won't go on anything remotely fast or scary, and although I could send my 8 year old on rides alone, I won't. Also of course it depends on how much the prices increase.
I wish I had a cool signature to insert here, but I don't.

We will not be renewing this year, and instead we may get Knott's seasons passes.

    5 (technically 4.91111) season passes ($66.99) = 1 Disney SoCal AP ($329).

Great deal, and seeing as Disney is taking a downwards spiral in terms of value and overall treatment of guests, this is an AMAZING value.

I bought a Voucher before the last Insane July Price Hike that will cover me for next year BUT. If they don't come to their senses and hold the line, that will be the last pass for a while.

Disney might as well start charging $1,000 a ticket and eliminate *all* the Riff-Raff. They've just about reached that tipping point now, won't take much more.

They say they added a lot of Entertainment and Shows - but the Coke Corner Piano is cut back to a single shift that goes home at 8:30 PM. Yeah, right.

    And I doubt I'll cut back to a So-Cal - $20 for parking now makes that a non-starter, they'll probably have it up to $30 by 2014.

Yes, we renewed this August, but it will be the last time. We live too far away to visit during the week, and on the weekends, the resort is no longer a premium experience with the year-round crowds.

Same here, and haven't activated it yet. I expired last week and am still blown away that Disney sent me absolutely NOTHING to try to get me to renew. Apparently, they don't want this passholder back - which I find very funny since I barely ride the attractions and spend a fortune in the shops and restaurants.

In the meantime, purchased the Knott's pass a few months ago and am very happy with it.

I am another "got to think about" answer. We usually get one every other year or 2, but with the price increases, it is more difficult to fit them into the budget. I will probably finish up the time with my current pass for a couple more visits and then wait to get a "new" one in a couple of years.

Yes for at least the next two years. But if there's annual 30% increases, no. Disney has turned quite intentionally greedy. Not sure who's taking the company down this road.
