Re: anyone ever see someone jump off ride to retrieve a lost item

While riding the Rapids at Great America, the ride broke down. We were stopped close by the lift where people can pay to wet us. A couple dudes hopped out of their raft and managed to make it on the dock.

    It was pretty scary watching!

In regards to that Horizons video...who on earth let that happen? And what idiot would want to spend a whole month or days at a time inside that ride??
It is hard for people to slip out of the belt, it happens. Not sure about this ToT (worked Fl's) but we had camera's looking inside each car and we could warn them on a speaker if they were doing something wrong.

As for wanting to spend a month or days inside a ride, I can say I don't want to do it, if it was Haunted Mansion you couldn't get me to leave. I used to ask to walk ToT every night after it closed just to see all the detail.

Also I have seen (while working) people who get panic attacks who try to exit the ride.
Little and broken, but still good.

If you read up on their blog, they were documenting the ride before they closed and tore down the entire ride since Disney wasn't going to document it at all. They were very passionate about the ride and wanted to get as much as they could before the ride would be gone forever. Good intentions done with evil actions. Okay, not really evil, but not legal at the same time either.

Was there ever any response from Disney about those videos, I wonder? As much as I appreciate that they documented the ride for posterity I would think that those videos would warrant a huuuuge meeting and re-alignment of Disney's security procedures. Luckily, those fellows meant no harm to either the ride or their fellow guests, but unfortunately one couldn't say the same for everyone.

Like because he's an idiot. I raised 2 boys & still don't understand that type of 'young male testosterone let me do something really stupid' mindset a la 'Jackass'. Although my sons would never have done anything as stupid & disrespectful as that Mark Twain stunt, some of the things they thought up were pretty idiotic. Luckily, they were both the type that would end up blurting their plans out to us beforehand because " Mom/Dad, listen, this is 'so cool'!". Plus, I think that they probably would have been too scared to actually have carried them out even if we hadn't put the kibosh on them. I have no idea how I made it through their teenage years. LOL

Even as a "last day at work" thing...I would never want to step a toe in that water...it looks very nasty.

I never want to be in any of that water.....It's been a recurring nightmare since I was a child...Disneyland Waters!!

At least CM's can change clothing and shower in the back...and usually don't do this when guests are around or can record it. At least I hope they are smarter than that.
