Disneyland's animatronics run the gamet on humanoid skins. The older ones feature "plastisol" which always looks too shiny to me with the color of Silly Putty. The necks always move with the head giving certain figures a turtle look. The newer ones (like Lincoln) are very realistic (from the distance seen by an audience) and the latest still-in-development skins by Disney Research are so realistic that they border on the Uncanny Valley.
Does anyone know the various kinds of Disney animatronic skins used through the years, their formulations, limitations and maintenance requirements?
