Okay, I've been listening to people kvell about this place for months now, both here and on the WDW board. I live up north and we don't have Earl up here, so I have to ask. What's so special about this place? What can you do to a sandwich that makes it that good? (In fairness, I said the same thing about Krispy Kreme, replacing "sandwich" w/ "donut.")

lol. You're talking to the wrong guy because I also happen to love Taco Bell (for very different reasons). But geez... you're practically making me beg for a proper explanation. Out with it already. What's not exciting, specifically, about EoS? For that matter what's your beef with Taco Bell? What would excite you (food wise) if it were announced to be opening at DTD? Why?

I'm curious since I've never had EoS before and with all the talk here I will have to try them on my next visit. I wouldn't say I'm excited because I've never been.
Your life is about to change. jk. But maybe. I find the EoS to be extraordinarily delicious, perfectly filling, satisfyingly diverse (for sandwiches), and adequately priced. For me, it's a win-win-win. After you try it I'd like to know what you think.

There's also an EoS at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas which is way closer to me than traveling all the way to WDW DTD. My family (are fortunate enough to be bale to) make frequent trips to Vegas and always schedule a meal at the Earl.

Why have I never heard of the Earl of Sandwich, ever, until these news reports. I mean I knew a place called Earl of Sandwich was showing up at DTD but I've never heard of the place. I"m very curious now and will definantly go check it out this weekend.

I am with you. I never heard of the place until the announcement came onto Mice Chat and people were raving about it. They must be some awfully darn good sandwiches!!

Will it make ESPN Zone or RFC less crowded? I might be more inclined to grab a monorail to DtD if it were .....

Same for me too, I have tons of friends who rave about the Earl of Sandwich in Vegas. Though it's known for 'hot sandwiches,' my friend said it was just as good cold, or better depending on what you get. I don't know if a sandwich is worth standing outside for with a line like tonight, but we'll see.

I first learned of the Earl while on the Disney College program. Besides the one at WDW DTD and the one in Vegas others have heard about their locations are few and far between.

They are gosh darn awfully good. The secret, IMO, is the bread.

Mmmmm... not sure. If anything I think EoS might even out the crowd. Sometimes the wait for ESPN Zone or RFC gets ridiculous. Plus, the price points are way different. EoS will be the first real quick service outside of the Parks. Im expecting it to be very busy.

Beware. Those of us who already know and love EoS may be hyping it up.

The thing about the Vegas location is that it's right around the corner from the "Pleasure Pit." THat may add to the rave-factor.

So, will there be a FastPass for these $1,000 Greatest Sandwiches Known To Mankind? I don't think I could tolerate a 3 hour wait in a line backed up to Katella, just for a sandwich, no matter how good it is. Who's making these sandwiches, anyway, Johnny Depp?

I went tonight and waited 2 hours for the sandwiches. Really really good food. The wait was looong.

Re: GRAND OPENING: Earl of Sandwich, Friday, Nov. 2nd.

Apparently they are offering a 25% discount during the soft open and I've heard of 1 1/2 to 2 hour waits last night. Crazy.

As for Earl making ESPN Zone, etc less busy, I don't really think so. It's a different kind of restaurant. I think at the most it may take some business from LaBrea Bakery but since they are at opposite ends of DtD I don't think it's going to. LaBrea will serve the tram audience, Earl will serve the hotel and movie audience. Win/Win.

Ok so if people here went to the soft opening and stood in line...where are the sandwich pics! I have never heard of the Earl nor had one of their sandwiches and I'm thinking along the lines of Subway but have a feeling its better.

Re: GRAND OPENING: Earl of Sandwich, Friday, Nov. 2nd.

I went to EOS yesterday morning right at opening (1pm) and last night at closing, at opening things went smoothly, I got my sandwich. Met the founder of Earl of Sandwich who is staying in California through to the grand opening and had a pleasant time. Then I went again last night at 9pm and it was utter chaos. It took 2.5 hours to get our sandwiches. Luckily they said come back in the next week and bring your receipt and we'll all have free sandwiches waiting for us which was cool.

I was thinking the same thing! To rectify that I search Instagram and found some good looking pics. However, I've taken the liberty to include some pics of (my fav) sandwiches, with their descriptions, taken from the Eos website.
