Re: GRAND OPENING: Earl of Sandwich, Friday, Nov. 2nd.
I went last night. Took the Monorail over and found a line of about 15-20 minutes before I was able to order. Then they give you a buzzer and a number and it took at least 10-15 more minutes before our order was ready. It was my first time at an Earl of Sandwich and I wasn't blown away by it, but it was pretty good. I had the 1762 (roast beef, cheddar and horseradish), my son got the Full Montagu (turkey, roast beef, cheddar, swiss, lettuce, tomato, mustard sauce) and my four-year-old got the kid's turkey & swiss. My son and I ended up trading half of each of our sandwiches with each other and neither could decide which was better. I'd rank both as about a 7/10. The kid's turkey & swiss was very good and only $3.99. I'd like to try their soups as well as a few other sandwiches (tuna melt, chipotle chicken one). By the time we finished eating, the line to order looked about 50% longer than the line I stood in. This was around 6:00 last night, which was a VERY crowded day at the resort. Also, the seating arrangement is sort of odd. There are big communal picnic tables but it's hard to tell who's using what areas. We sat down in one spot and then were politely shooed off by a woman who informed us we were sitting in her husband's seat. Everything worked out, though, as a spot opened up right before we got our food.
