I'm sure Paramount will make out well but Disney would still be the ones making the most money with a new Indy movie. Lucasfilm owns Indiana Jones, Paramount is just a distibutor. Lucasfilm/Disney will make the money on the merchandise not Paramount.

My guess, they are playing off the Indy thing while they negotiate with Paramount. They made a deal with Paramount with the Marvel movies and will probably make one with Indy as well.

According to an article this morning on Superherohype, Lucas is donating the bulk of the money he is making on this sale to charity.

American Graffiti would be awesome as a stage show.
    Fear of the unknown.

They are afraid of new ideas.

They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon any reality, but based on if something is new, I reject it immediately because its frightening to me. What they do instead is just stay with the familiar.
You know, to me, the most beautiful things in all the universe, are the most mysterious.

No it wouldn't. Leave that classic film alone. It's a film. Let it stay a film. You wanna do Grease, which IS a stage show (as well as a movie), then do Grease.

And no, no musical version of THX-1138 either! Not wanted. Not needed. Leave it alone.

I don't know if "perfect" is really the word I'd use (seems overly positive, and I don't really view the whole thing so positively), but it does seem logical that Lucasfilm is with Disney now, given what both companies have become.

It's just sad, though. What Disney became, and then what Lucasfilm became. And it really happened at about the same time, too.

"Perfect" in the definition of "completely suited for a particular purpose."

Indeed, a match made in marketing heaven.

OT: Must every show at the Hyperion be a musical? Not every Broadway-style play is a musical.

How would it be the "Disneyfication" of the movie. They are not going back and altering the film. That is something that George does. All this would be is taking the source material and adapting it for another medium. There are some period specific songs that would fit in quite nicely with this.

The original film will still be there to go and watch. This would just be something different for those who would be interested, and it would fit the CA theme very nicely.

For a musical in Disneyland there would be none of the following:
    1) There would be no "File that under CS" scene=Disneyfication
    2) There would be no BA with pressed ham scene=Disneyfication
    3) There would be no Toad and Debbie attempted makeout scene=Disneyfication
There are many more parts of the movie pretty unsuitable for a Disney Park production.
    So why even do it?
Why does everybody want to screw with perfection
