For $4 billion, I don't think he'll care what happens. For $1 billion, maybe he'd care.
He was going to get billions anyway. But really, there wasn't that many studios capable of paying that much and being able to do as much with what they got. It was sort of a no-brainer if you think about it.
I heard an interview with Seth Rogen and he was talking about a meeting he had with Lucas a few years back. He said Lucas mostly talked about the world ending in December 2012 and that was why he wasn't doing any projects.
This all makes sense now...
