Re: Does the internet ruin the magic of Disneyland?

Thanks again for tall the replies (I think I'll link this in the video description for further reading), I deffinetly cling onto the internet as well due to living so far away.

It was really interesting to hear Briana talk about how she would get bored looking up rides and shows that would entice and excite me even though I've experienced them before.

Re: Does the internet ruin the magic of Disneyland?

Back in the dark ages of the early 1990s (long before I had ever heard of the internet), I remember what it was like to get that certain Disneyland fix between the months and even years between trips. I would pour over my small collection of books and listen to the few lp record albums I had (and still have acturally). I would also pour over family snapshots and postcards quite a bit. The one advantage I see to those days is that I did have to use my imagination more to bring back the memories. However, as fondly as I recall those days, I wouldn't want to go back. I have more books now, an mp3 player full of Disneyland-related audio (I got quite a kick out of listening to the entire WACKY radio loop as I was driving the other day - it almost felt as if I were really listening to a talk radio station), and many well-done videos on dvd, blu-ray, and on the internet. The small decrease of imagination I believe is more than countered by the immersion that the internet provides.

I haven't yet seen the video but a quick answer for me would be "no".

Well of course it does! The net takes away imagination and creativity and replaces it with inuendo, speculation and opinions of people unknown but "trusted". The only value of the net is for pure intertainment. It has no socially redeaming value. And that's how I see it.
