From what I've seen, Western River Expedition is definitely an E-ticket. . . I would definitely love to see it in Frontierland. . .

I don't know... reading the summary (on another fan site), it seems that a lot of the show scenes would today seem a little lame, or even offensive.
Just my opinion, though.

I have a feeling that would be how people would perceive it if it ever opened. It has received such legendary hype due to the cult status it achieved as the "greatest ride never built" that I don't think it would ever live up to expectations.Originally Posted by second blue teacup

While I agree that Frontierland needs something more. And I firmly believe it shouldn't be a "thrill ride" (roller coaster). And I'll gladly agree that Western River Expedition would have been incredible. But why can't something new be designed? Somehting in the same vein, but original and modern. Full of animatronics and humor would be awesome. But they can come up with something new.

I'm all for Frrontierland getting some much needed attention since it seems like the ignored middle child of Disneyland... but I'm not expecting or really hoping for Western River Expedition specifically... I just want something new to serve as the iconic attraction of Frontierland
What I question about building it now, is with Splash in place, the west side of the park would be dominated and dominate the park's wate rides. POTC, HM, Splash, Pooh then WRE, every other attraction a waterrride. Also the southwest rugid terrain themeing being across ROA being interupper by cityscape to the north assuming they build the Discovery Bay plans.
However I do like the idea of a mountain ridge in that part of the park. Something with the grand scale of the Caddilac Range could hide the giant M&F garage from view.
Would making the old plans be possibly lame and offensive as Little Blue Teacup said, yes. Of course with decades of experience and its new knowlege and ideas would go into it.

It would not be built to the exact specs of the "now legendary" plans. The imagineers and suits would have a "confab" and PC it up nice and safe for sensitive modern audiences.
Even if not an exact construction - or even a modernizing, politically correct version of WRE - something on the grandiose, animatronic scale of this would be a godsend.
