Re: Pirates of the Caribbean/Blue Bayou alligator

It is not (and has not ever been) robotic/animated, as far as I can tell from looking deliberately for/at it on at least 15 rides on Pirates. Just sits there, watching

Always in the same position and definitely no back and forth motion I've witnessed. The lighting and motion of the boat/water lapping could give that impression, I suppose, if you see it out of the corner of your eye.

    Charles.

I'm wondering if he (or she) was added back in the '97 refurbishment. Could this gator possibly be one of the three floating crocodiles removed from the Jungle Cruise during the addition of Indiana Jones? It looks very similar.

I like these. I think that Henri is my particular favorite. But that's probably due to the fact that I'm terrible with French and have no clue how most of the othes would be pronounced. Although, to me, he looks like a Barnabas. Not exactly sure why, especially since I do think that being in New Orleans, a French name would be perfect, and that's not a very French name. But for some reason or another, it popped into my mind.

Well, fine then, if you don't want to name it 'Jack'.

If you want to go French, then since so many of us haven't seen the 'gator before, how about
Monsieur Caché (or Madame Cachée). French for Mr (or Mrs.) Hidden. Pronounced 'Cash-ay'.
Or maybe the French for alligator, which is......alligator. LOL

Actually, Boucher (boo-shay) isn't bad. French for butcher. Considering the nature of the alligator, it fits.

In the hundreds of times I have been on POTC I have never noticed the gator! You have such a great eye! I am always consumed with looking out for the old man and have never once saw that prop!

How about some corporate synergy? Swampy from "Where's My Water?"?
