Not anxious to die Sir, just anxious to matter.

Wow - I had no idea this topic would be so popular. Since the poll indicates that 62% prefer Starbucks, I am willing to accept that it is the proper choice for the parks. It seems to be what most people like. Walt Disney himself always advocated for giving people what they want. So I can accept my defeat and crawl away. Even though I prefer Dunkin' Donuts, I am obviously in a small minority. And it's not like I can't buy a different brand somewhere else in the parks. Starbucks does not have a monopoly on Disney parks yet.

Then it's just like the ones in the casino's in Vegas.

Bonus for both, people will buy a "Starbucks" over a Main Street cafe coffee.
In point of history, Walt Disney always advocated for giving people the best that he and his best-of-the-best staff could create, which was often not what people thought they wanted. If Walt had listened to "what people wanted," Snow White never would have been produced, Disneyland would have been like every other amusement park in 1955, and we wouldn't be having this conversation. As Ray Bradbury observed, "The secret of Disney is doing things you don't need, and doing them well. And then you realize you needed them all along."
Today's Disney Corporation panders to what people want. They don't spend a dime or cut a deal unless it's been focus-group tested, beancounter-approved and backed with marketing statistics that prove it previously made double-digit profits elsewhere.
"With the acquisition of Marvel and now of Lucasfilm,
Disney may have finally found the grail. You don't need
imagination or art. All you need is a brand."
- Neil Gabler
well - Walt did once say "give the people what they want" during an interview in his later life. But I think his point was to not listen to what the critics say, but to what the public at large would say. To cater to his audience rather than to the critics. He instinctively knew what the public at large would want, so he ignored his critics, doubters and nay-sayers.

speaking of McDonald's fries, they don't taste as good as they used to - since they stopped using trans fat in their cooking, I have noticed a difference, and the fries have suffered, they have a bad aftertaste that did not seem to have before. Does anyone else notice that? (I know I am way off topic here)

I'm in Southern CA.
Yeah, I've had the sizes explained. I still don't care to figure it out. I recognize this is my own issue.
I pledge allegiance to the Earth, one planet, many gods, and to the universe in which she spins.
When your critics become your audience, they have given into YOUR way of doing things. So you have won them over.

Ok, I think I can shut this thread down, now.
1955–1957, Maxwell House Coffee House
And if you are anti-Starbucks... Try this (not sure it works anymore but, hey)
Did you know that you can get free refills on coffee at Disneyland?
Since 1955, Main Street‘s Market House has given free refills on coffee. Purchase a cup of coffee (regular, decaf, vanilla or hazelnut) for $2.59 and save your receipt.
There’s no need to keep the cup. Just bring back the receipt and enjoy free refills all day.
yep - it is often referred to as the "bottomless cup of coffee"
