Re: Why can't I buy a Pepsi inside Disney?

First of all, Coke and Pepsi preferences vary depending on which area of the country you are from and Anaheim happens to be a more Coke-leaning district from my understanding, so all the locals on here cannot really speak for everyone when they say Coke is more preferred.

What Disney needs is a flavored Soda...I know Dr Pepper is probably out of the question but that's my personal favorite. Of course, I'd take a Pibb if they had it (I believe that's a Coke product) or at the very least a Cherry Coke...the old cola flavors get old to me after a while. That's my one biggest complaint about Disney is the lack of soda variety.

What would be awesome is if they took a cue from Universal Florida and started adding those freestyle machines...then lots more people would be happy!

You may not enjoy the taste of Coke, but America does, significantly more than Pepsi.
I wonder how many cases of Coke are sold in Disney Parks in a year. Keep in mind that no one has a choice there and the numbers might start to come a little closer. For some reason, unknown to me, most people do prefer Coke. Completely a puzzle to me!

That's why I voted for Both.
I very much prefer Pepsi to Coke, but I wouldn't want it to be the only choice in the park.
People really do like the taste of Coca Cola Classic.
I liked the New Coke, (remember Max Headroom?) because it tasted like Pepsi.
Unsweetened Iced Tea is what I usually order if I can get it though.

They should sell mexican coke in the parks. It uses sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It tastes way better!

Re: Why can't I buy a Pepsi inside Disney?

BTW, the reason that Coke has more likes on Facebook (and more followers on Twitter, for that matter) is because they put in a concerted effort to increase their social media presence and following. Pepsi's campaign is, well, lacking, to say the least (I had to do a study on this in one of my classes, and Pepsi is like it's a small world before they replaced the jets while Coca-Cola is Space Mountain. Red Bull is the California Screamin' of this analogy, but that's besides the point). I could go on why, but basically, it has nothing to do with the respective preferences, but about innovative branding and advertising.

Personally, while I do prefer Coke, I don't really care which cola they carry because I usually don't drink cola. And Disneyland carries Coke because they are paid to do so exclusively. If you were a company, would you rather be paid for exclusivity and use that to discount somewhat your expenses on soda, or pay the full price in order to have two different versions of a very, very similar product.

    Finally: MexiCoke >>> all

I'm all for Mexican Coke but I guess the glass bottles would be an issue, if someone dropped it, broke it, etc, someone could get cut. It sucks because I love Mexican Coke but it's totally understandable.
And to whoever said DL needs flavored soda- they have orange Fanta.

Why not bring your own Pepsi into the park? That way you're happy y'know?

Coke that is kosher for Passover uses cane sugar instead of HFC too. It has yellow caps.

The Coke produced in the Cleveland bottling plant also uses sugar.

Since since both are bottled in the USA in the regular plastic bottles they could certainly have it in Disneyland and for a price they would probably be willing to do it year round.

all I wanted was a pepsi, just one pepsi and Disney wouldn't give it to me, just one pepsi! Suicidal Tendencies - "Institutionalized" Frontier Records - YouTube

(2 min mark for the pepsi part but this song rules anyways so the whole thing should be viewed)

Doesn't matter I'll probably get hit by a car any ways...

This thread is convincing me that people are more passionate about Coke-vs-Pepsi than they are who their elected officials are. I weep for America.

If we're talking colas, then I like Coke better than Pepsi (but I like Cherry Coke better than regular). Going with the non-cola sodas... Give me my Mountain Dew and no one gets hurt.

Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback, which are now permanent flavor options, also use real sugar instead of HFCS, and they are available everywhere. Coke does not offer this option in the American market except for very brief periods in small markets.

Because of this, Disneyland should offer Pepsi Throwback.
