The original is massive pieces and about 80% crust. I have loved that sandwich for years, but when my husband and I got them a couple of months ago at Cafe Orleans, we had to peel away a ton of breading to get bites that were both filling and breading. It used to be about 50/50. I was disappointed at the change.

Although jaded by current Disney Company practices, Disneyland still holds a special spot in my heart and memories. Perhaps one day the company will once again take up the mantle that Walt worked so hard to achieve.
This is such a good idea! I love the Monte Cristo sandwiches but rarely order them anymore because I can never eat a whole one. A small Monte Cristo snack I can do.
If you added them all up, would that be a Count of Monte Cristo?? lol

I sampled the Monte Cristo bites on my visit last Sunday. They are in fact very good. I like them best with the powdered sugar. I didn't try the cider yet though. And I LOVE the idea of candy cane cotton candy, but I don't think I'd want to eat it. It looks too cool to ruin it!

i saw a few carrying cotton candy when i was in the area..its mostly white cotton candy with a soft red swirl in red.
didnt get to try it,but hopefully its around next week or 2

I suppose I could try a few of the bites, but I've never had the full-size sandwich. What's it like? And I suppose I could go off my diet once in a while, say once a month.

I would say no. The chef who introduced himself as the head chef for Plaza Inn is Chef Mark Doi. He has a video on YouTube put up by the Disney Parks on making edible art. Here is a link if you want to see him.

I just had them today and they looked very different from the posted picture. I had 4 triangular, good sized pieces (like a sandwiched, quartered). I asked to make sure they were fresh and was super excited to try them! Delicious!
