Re: Monte Cristo Bites at Jingle Jangle Jamboree
Oh, these look too good. I've been wondering about them, now thanks to this post I have to try them. Great price as well. I can NEVER finish a whole Monte Cristo, so these are perfect for me. I guess I know what I am having this week!!
Thanks for the post!

It really is the perfect amount, if not slightly over, and I'm thinking the bigger pieces are better as well, since it's more sandwich and not as much coating as the smaller ones.

Food blog article about the Monte Cristo Bites with some good photos -
Dining in Disneyland: The Jingle Jangle Jamboree, Featuring MONTE CRISTO BITES | the disney food blog
It's been a long time since I had a Monte Cristo sandwich, but I've been a fan of them since I was a kid. I remember getting one every time my family went to this little restaurant (long since closed) in Anaheim called The Roadrunner Inn (on Lincoln Avenue) back in the '70s. Everywhere I've seen the Monte Cristo sandwich offered, it's accompanied by raspberry preserves or jam, sometimes boysenberry (which I love even more) and powdered sugar. These bites? OMG, I'm salivating.
Re: Monte Cristo Bites at Jingle Jangle Jamboree
Unlike a real Monte Cristo though, these are deep fried in donut or fritter batter with no bread at all. I guess that's why their not called Monte Cristo Sandwich Bites.
Re: Monte Cristo Bites at Jingle Jangle Jamboree
I just had them yesterday and it appears as if they have changed them since that blog post. I had 4 pieces and there was bread...just like they had quartered a sandwich, battered it and fried it. Has anyone else had them recently?
Re: Monte Cristo Bites at Jingle Jangle Jamboree
I enjoyed them for my first time yesterday. My photos below. I thought it was the perfect serving and loved that they weren't as oily tasting as the MC Sandwich can sometimes be when ordered from Café Orleans or the BB.
Retrocool, thanks for the blog link. I didn't know the ones I had yesterday were different from how they were originally made.

Re: Monte Cristo Bites at Jingle Jangle Jamboree
I had them on last Sunday. I found them to be so greasy and just not the same as the fully sized sandwiches at either Blue Bayoo or New Orleans Cafe. I had them all the time and loved them. These I could not even eat more than two and had to dump the rest. I had been so looking forward to these since they were announced and sorry to say I was disappointed. Now I am much more interested in trying Earl of Sandwich but I have read so many remarks about how good they are, I am worried I won't like these either.
