I hope this was a joke...
I hope this was a joke...
I am crying hysterically right now.
omg. does it really matter!!??? seriously!!?? wow.. it's not gonna stop me from seeing the movie just cause certain items of the costume are wrong. big DEAL. I am going to cut the costume design department some slack, they tried their best and the movie..and those cm's sure look handsome! Yes they do!
I don't think its necessary to call it an "epic fail" for a detail so small, most wont even really notice
I'm surprised at you.
Sosai X was kidding. (I thought it was funny. Though it was a close parody of a perfectionism that I've been guilty of on Micechat.)
I knew it was parody from the moment I read the post. Hilarious.
Vintage Disneyland movie?? I'd go see this thing even if they had the extra on their cell phones. :)
Those guys look sharp. I wish they still had them dress like that.
In the movie 40 Pounds Of Trouble, the monorail stops at Main Street USA and you can make calls from a phone booth on the way to Tomorrowland!
I'm not surprised at all. Just add it to the goofs list at imdb.com and be done with it. Every period movie has tons of anachronisms. This will be no different.
Disgusting. I'll be sure to avoid this movie when it's in theaters, and at this point, I might not even go see another Tom Hanks movie. They will pay for their ignorance.
If anyone needs me I'll be out back burning my VHS copy of Forrest Gump.
While I don't think the OP was serious, I do think when this movie is released, there will be MCers who are fuming b/c some areas of the park will be clearly present day DL and not early 1960s DL.
This film wasn't made for MCers/DL fans, it was made for the movie going public who will most likely never notice ANY inconsistancies at DL. The rumors I have heard about the castle remaining the same will probably be the biggest out-cry on DL forums. LOL.
This film is now dead to me.
On a slightly more serious note, THANK YOU jcruise! I was just about to post that. And I too found the original post to be quite funny. :)
Yeah I'll be going to this film as a movie lover and not a Disney fan. I'll keep quiet until the movie is over then say what they got wrong. As a movie critic I'm the most mellow I am not like Leonard Maltin.
Ohh and by the way I knew it was a joke when a pie came through my screen and hit my face. :p Curiously it was boysenberry? :???:
See ya walkin' right down the middle of o'l Main Street USA
Pfffh. Rich kids.
So, yes, plastic was around in 1961, but it was insanely expensive. Why, most of the world's entire supply in 1957 was used to make Disneyland's House of the Future -- which just goes to show you how far Disney would go in those days to create a top-notch attraction. Heck, people would stand in line for hours just to smell the plastic.
So mellow that most days you have to poke him with a fork to see if he is alive.
