Re: Holidays at DLR: Treat Photos

My husband loves muffins. In fact, I bake him a batch of 6 to take to work almost each and every day he goes to work. I have been doing this for years. However, lately he has been grocery shopping with me, and picking up packages of 4 muffins. Each package costs around $5 each. That averages out to a little more than a dollar a muffin. I can definitely make my muffins for a whole lot less, even though they are smaller in size. My husband, says it's only money, and I should appreciate the break from baking every day. He makes the money in our household, so I certainly feel that he should be able to spend it whatever way he likes. The man has a sweet tooth, and he loves picking up fancy pastries, coffee cakes, and muffins from his favorite grocery store.

Sometimes we need to treat ourselves to something special. Life really is too short to pinch pennies about everything. Some people spend a lot of money on cars. Or they eat out a lot. Or perhaps they go to the movies a lot. Each of us must determine the value of the experience to what it costs in dollars, and decide for ourselves if it is worth it. My husband's dollar + muffins are worth it to him, and they make him happy. My grandson's overpriced movie ticket puts a smile on his face.

Sure, life has many joyful things that are free, however, a few costly ones now and then are nobody's business but the buyer's.

A happy holiday thread thats only reason for existence is bring joy and happiness and wonderful pictures of decadent treats for those of us not lucky enough to live close enough or who get there as often to see them ourselves and right out of the gate we start with the negativity over prices? People are nice enough to share PICTURES of yummy stuff and the only thing we can do is bring the rest of us down by bringing up and making a point of the prices? Are they over priced? Of course its Disney but I don't care. I just want some nice pictures of some fun stuff because right now I need some positive happy things and I don't want to see what is suppose to be an upbeat fun thread turn into yet another negative conversation. I am alway the first one to defend everyones right to their opinion because we are a discussion board but.... Really? Its a holiday thread. Its just nice pictures of food.

That has to be my most favorite holiday treat item yet. The frothy whipped cream on the top and the smiling Mickey face is a perfect combo!

Re: Holidays at DLR: Treat Photos

I remember my one Christmas trip to Disneyland. That shop back in Critter Country had some really cool looking goodies. However, too much sugar would have had me bouncing off the walls, so I kept my munching to a respectable level.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy my pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and look forward to seeing more awesome pictures from those of you lucky enough to be visiting the Disneyland Resort.
