Dear Lord, the new version is a complete JOKE. What were they thinking?? :???:
Thanks for the side by side comparison, SoCalbma. It helps a lot.
Well this is... disappointing.
A lot of steps back. I honestly didn't think it would be that bad but I found myself very bored having the same color lights just flashing... & flashing... & flashing.
Be prepared for more of this crap next year when Disney starts charging for the holidays......
SoCalbma, thank you for the comparision.
Visually seeing the difference astonishes me. I haven't yet seen this years projection but if its what the video SoCalbma showed...I'll walk right on by. It's just green and red flashes. No Toy Soldiers, no Tinkerbelle.
So sad.
And you probably are right. The big shows are left only to ticket holders.
Wow that was somewhat pathetic
Wow, that was incredibly disappointing. Something that was cute and fun...just isn't anymore.
I saw it twice last night, thought it was great!
Wow, why the downgrade? That's bizarre.
the only thing they need to get rid of is the CM that took our christmas photo last night in front of three.. what was suppose to be a nice christmas photo, possible for our christmas cards, turned out horrible. the photos are dark and orangy looking..
ya, it does not look as good as past years
It's clear to me what has happened: they have removed all the segments which required perfect registration with the facade. You'll notice that the show now doesn't have any elements that have to be aligned with the various pieces of the facade.
I noticed last year that the alignment had slipped quite a bit, perhaps this year they decided it was too much work to keep the projectors aligned properly.
Isn't it as simple as they've discontinued doing "The Magic, the Memories & You," so the equipment used in that show that allowed for such precision is probably no longer installed?
I think it's all a matter of comparison. If you've seen previous years' shows, this year's is not good. But if you haven't seen the show previously, it's sort of fun and certainly better than nothing.
