The original was not mine, but I changed it a bit to fit my family.
‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving vacation, when all through the house of Pond
I heard what sounded like “To infinity and beyond..”
The tickets were packed in our suitcase with care,
Anaheim, here we come…tomorrow we’ll be there.
Tiny was tucked all snug in her bed,
With visions of princesses dancing through in her head.
With John in his PJs and I in warm flannel,
We had just a few more hours to flip through the channels.
When out past the window arose such a crash,
John sprang from the recliner, but all we saw was a bright flash.
Then what to my incredulous eyes should appear
A spaceship controlled by who else but Buzz Lightyear!
He opened the hatch and out they all came,
Our pals from the parks whom we all know by name.
There was Snow White and Minnie and their pal Cinderella;
Goofy and Pluto and the villain Cruella.
Then came Tigger, and Eeyore, and Donald, and Daisy,
I had to rub my eyes, I thought I was going crazy.
Buzz said, “Don’t worry you two, grab Tiny, let’s go.
If we want to be there for rope-drop, we’ve got to move along this show.”
Since we were packed, and prepared, and bursting to go
we hopped on the spaceship our faces aglow!
Our daughter was silent, not sure if she was dreaming
But when as she looked out the window, she started beaming.
There it was, the most magical holiday place
With mountains and a castle clearly seen from space.
So off we go for our holiday stay,
Hope you too have a wonderful, memorable Thanksgiving Day!
