    Thanksgiving in the Park

As I sit at home, I can't help but check my Walkee app and I see the wait times are 30 minutes for RSR. I use RSR as a crowd gauge. Is today the best day for a Disney trip!?

If so, I'm marking my calendar for next year.

if you are at the park now... Please post some reports.

MouseWait is showing as of 854am, the wait is 120mins.

Having been on Thanksgiving in the past, I would rate it up there with Christmas week, except for some odd reason, not as friendly (guest wise). And the Friday after Thanksgiving is so not fun. A LOT of unsupervised kids running in a packed park. I got the impression many were dropped off while the folks went shopping.
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Well Disney has an actual map & Wait Time list but only for Verizon Customers. I don't like MW I have one from the App Store called Disneyland Wait Times you can find it for free on both App Stores. Also I added one that was featured on this site called Disneyland Mouseaddict featuring MiceChat. I like and trust both and they don't let me down
    Always read the fine print.

There is an app called Disney's Mobile Magic. It's free only on verizon but available elsewhere. It doesn't require user input like other apps to display wait times, however it only shows specific data to users who are at the resorts.

    Any way, it's busy.

Is it safe to say, users here, are avoiding today at the park?
should we expect a "blame the AP holders" post holiday thread soon after?

I'm at my folks house with family because I'm smelling a turkey roast and watching football, not avoiding the park.

It's not busy because of AP holders, most are blocked out today. The reason they are blocked out is because Disney knows it's a busy time. Few are working or in school, it's a day many go to the park.

I have Virgin Mobile and the app was free.

I'm hearing packed. 30 minute wait for RSR seems like pure fantasy. The team and I may be there tonight after our family dinner. I expect it to be worse then.

My preference is Mobile Magic, but it only gives accurate times if you are in the park.

Mobile Magic doesn't give "minutes" when you aren't in the park, but they give a rating, and right now RSR is "High Demand". Mickey's Fun Wheel is listed as "Moderate".

I used to go all the time on Thanksgiving, up until about 3 years ago. It was a pretty busy day. Definitely not a light crowd day.

    Re: Thanksgiving in the Park

I was there today. It was pretty packed but for some reason it didn't really seem so to me and my family. We got to go on every major attraction at least two times plus a bunch of smaller ones (like BLAB, Fantasyland classics, Jungle Cruise, etc) at least once without a problem and still got to relax and enjoy the day (and the food!). The last few hours were nice- wait times were pretty low. Space was listed at 30, Star Tours at around 25, BTMRR and HMH were almost walk-ons! Finished the night on Peter Pan. Got in line about 10 minutes before park closing and was off the ride at around 12:15...this was the longest wait we had during those last few hours!

Didn't go into DCA at all today so I can't speak for the crowds there. Compared to the last Thanksgiving I spent at the resort (which was in 2007), this year seemed to be less hectic in my opinion. But the most important thing was that I got to be there with my family and that we had a great time!
Please check out my E-Ticket attraction, The Time of My Life!

    Re: Thanksgiving in the Park

I used both DL Wait Times and MouseWait on my trip and both were pretty accurate.

I've been to the park on Thanksgiving before and I bet you the 30min wait time for RSR was a joke. The wait time wasn't that short all 3 days I was there and that was last month.
Please... put Guardians of the Galaxy in Tomorrowland.
