Re: Indiana Jones Soft Opens Today!!!

As far as the bridge being widened, I really didn't notice it. It seemed exactly like it used to be and I've ridden it a million times.

Oh and one more thing, I believe they filled in the part on the left where the ice used to fall so there is more of a separation between the initial huge room and the skeleton room.

It may not be new, but it is Indiana Jones. They also soft opened California Screemin' a day early after it's loop replacement.

    Re: Changes to Indiana Jones

I don't really mind if nothings changed as long as everything's been fixed up. The rides gotten so broken down over the years that it's criminal.

I am curious if any tweaks to the movement have been done. It was quite a different ride back in 95.

Damned it they do, damned if they don't.

Glad to hear all the effects are working again!
I don't think what I'm proposing is that unreasonable. The attraction is nearly 18 years old and has had zero major technological changes in that period. We are talking about a company that spent 600 million dollars to make Carsland a reality and you're telling me that they shouldn't spend one penny on new effects for one of the most beloved attractions at the resort? It's disappointing and quite frankly underwhelming.

With that said, don't think that I'm not appreciative that they restored what we already have but this is something which should have been taken care of on a consistent basis and not allowed to be run into the ground like it was.

3 months is not really that long to make-over a ride. In any case, perhaps you should ride it before you give an opinion.

I think Disney should have scheduled more time for this refurb. INDY needed to be closed for at least 8 months to get everything back in order plus add new effects. This attraction is stale and needs something new.

With that being said, Im glad they did what they did but more needed to be done.

8 months? How do you figure?

Seems a bit arbitrary to me.

Believe me, if Disney really wanted to accomplish the task in 3 months they would have hired the necessary help to make it a reality. I don't need to ride an attraction that I've been going on since the opening weekend to know what they accomplished.

Went to go film the ride, was turned down at the main gate. Didn't realize today was an employee blackout date. Derp.

Ok so my plans have changed and I might head out there to check out the new Indy. So it is established that it is open today, on and off?

Totally agree here. One, the ride should never have been allowed to deteriorate (BTW, Splash Mountain, I'm looking at you...) the way it had. Two, this rehab should have been the perfect opportunity to "Plus" the ride up. As has been said, it's great that the effects have been fixed and am happy about that but more possibly could have been done. All we are getting is a fixed ride, nothing more.

Not really, that's exactly the amount of time it to to fully makeover Test Track.

I would have liked to see an updated Rat Room with an effect similar to the one in TDS. The Rat Room is terrible, and at this point in 2012 is the kind of effect I might expect to see in a middle school's haunted house. For gosh sakes, Pirates has gotten updated projection effects twice since Indy has been around!

Otherwise, no huge changes were necessary in my opinion. The ride is great, and it needed an update. Done and done.
    Disneyland Wooooh!
