Re: (Merged) Indiana Jones Discussion Thread

I rode last night. Everything was much louder and the effects were clearer. The lightning at the beginning of the ride is much more bright and loud. The projection of the bugs and rats was very nice and clear. The spears mural looked fresh and I'm pretty sure I heard a new sound effect as well. The ball was working and they even spruced up the queue. It was obvious the queue got a fresh coat of paint. I'm really happy with this refurb.

Would it be possible to have certain jeeps that are programmed with the original level of roughness and intensity and others that are programmed the current way, and you can choose which type of experience you want? I saw another member mention that on a different thread and liked the idea, but I don't know if it's technically possible or realistic.

They could make this similar to Mission Space where one loading side has the original and the other is more gentle.

We rode Indy last night and loved it. Along with some of the stuff mentioned:

They increased the volume of the rope trick, you can now clearly hear the guy in the pit.

All the bamboo railings/ropes were redone and look/feel like new.

They added much more depth to the skeleton room - along with the lighting, it looks like it is a bigger area, the back walls were redone to add more of a cavern area.

The dart room had added some rafters to bring the ceiling height down and added some dangling vines from them, not just a painted hallway.

Also the snake room also added some hanging vines from the snake statues.

You feel the air bursts in the bug room too.

Lighting in the rope trick room was brightened a bit.

Demon ghost in the skull room was shimmering and more apparent.

The ball, however was not working.

Oh and the "guano" part of the entry path was cleaned up, the guano now has its shimmer back, no bare spots that were rubbed away.

OH and the laser strike from the Mara eye is brighter and more noticeable.

Disney should bring back the original program intensity, Indy hasn't been the same since.
    This!

I never got to experience the rough Indiana Jones. I would love to get too.

Rode it 2 hours ago, I thought that they did a good job with the lighting and sprucing up the sets. Also, I could hear the sound effects in the queue better. However, I did not like that the boulder was not working when I went on.

Is the "Next time...you wear blindfolds. Okay?" line new? I have never, I repeat, never heard it before.

Is the new paint int he dart room just as "cartoonie?"

I'm ok with what happened during the refurb because expected nothing but if Disney was the way Disney should be...then the ride should get new features every refurn they have the money, the tech and now even own Indy....improve it, why not

Went on Indy today and was impressed with the restoration, unfortunately the boulder was not functioning. The lightning strikes were the best improvement and I liked how the UV paint was done very well on the skeletons. Overall almost all the effects were up and running to perfection and it made for a great ride which I haven't experienced for quite some time. With that said, still would have liked to see something added which hasn't been done before but I would definitely say this is the best attraction at the resort bar none in its current condition. Just crossing my fingers that Disney will do a better job this time maintaining what they have.

The boulder is working, was working on Saturday when I went on it.

Might be a small thing, but it warmed my heart to see all the gum scrapped off the walls in the queue.
There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.
