I was trying to date that picture. Plenty of evidence within the picture.

On the 24th the Main Street Omnibus opened for service. And on the 25th the Disneyland Hotel had it's formal celebrity grand opening ceremony. So, two big dates there! And I love the long distance charges! Adjusted for inflation, that guest spent over $50.00 on five short phone calls placed from his room. His three night hotel stay cost $470.00, adjusted for inflation. (In a room with amenities, or lack thereof, that would send the 2012 guest protesting the wretched conditions on Yelp and Tripadvisor in a frenzy. No coffee maker, no color TV with 50 basic channels, no WiFi, no hairdryer, no high-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, no pillow menu, no ironing board or iron, no iPod docking clock radio, etc.)

You are correct!! Almost a year after it had actually opened (October 5th, 1955) the Disneyland Hotel formally had its grand opening ceremony.

Hi, Don! I wasn't sure where to post this to show you, so I added it here. If it is in the wrong place, let me know and I will delete it!

This is my brother and me at the Disneyland Hotel in 1964. I believe we were in the shops near the monorail station.

Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!

Check out my six action/adventure novels about Walt's lost diary and his epic quest. Visit my blog page!

I have drawn a circle around where your picture had to have been taken from.
