    Re: Club 33 Expansion News

Hmm I'm bit sad. My grandmother's retirement party was at Club 33 and the trophy room (aside from the bathroom) is one of the few things I remember from my visit as a child. But then again I doubt I'll ever see the inside of the club again so... It's a mixed bag for me.

To me, it's a no brainer. It seems like a wise move if the demand has been noted.

i don't know if "tradition" can be a valid argument anymore.

Over the last year, I have lost all interest in Club 33.

I can see the desire to bring in more revenue and expand Club 33. Still, it would have been nice for them to expand in a way that would not be exclusive for only a handful of guests.

They say in sales, the top 20 percent of customers provide 80% of sales. Thus the motivation to expand one of the more expensive venues in the park.
I hardly think club 33 is providing 80% of park revenue.

I believe the OP is saying that the top 20% of resort customers provide 80% of revenue resort wide. They spend more on food, more on merchandise, tours, etc. It would seem logical that Club 33 members would tend to fall within this 20% ranking.

Not the club. The patrons and their peers.

The 80% would probably include people spending $500+ a night at the hotels, buying time shares, etc

Executive members get 5 complimentary VIP tours per year for up to 10 people, executive members can add affiliate members for an additional $5,000 per card per year, these affiliates also get 5 comp VIP tours, at least they did in 2012 because that has now chaged to the original member is the only one that gets the VIP tours, affiliates get nothing. These tours cost $195/hr 6 hr minimum and are a dream in access to attractions and the Park in general. People I know rave about it and the guides

Members receive Premium VIP Tours (which are normally $295/hour), and can keep the tour guide all day (park open to close). Even if the affiliate members were only keeping the guide for 6 hours, the tours would only cost $167/hour ($5000 / 6 hours x 5 tours). This is might be why the Platinum membership dues were also increased.

The expansion of the Club 33 restaurant will allow more memberships to be sold. The membership initiation fee and dues are overpriced for only the restaurant, but can represent a good value for certain guests -- A guest who visits several times a year, stays onsite, and takes VIP tours.

I guess this really only pertains to those who go to Club 33, but couldn't there be a way to use that space for Fantasmic! dining packages instead?
