Yeah, that's a reasonable compromise. It can stay and still be slightly futuristic.

That wouldn't be possible. IF you remove the subs, 90% of Autopia is going with it since Autopia is built on top of the sub's show-building. At that point you'll be left with a massive loading area and queue, but a tiny ride. It wouldn't be worth it to keep. So it would be better to redevelop the land for something new. That way Disney doesn't have to spend the extra money fixing what is left of an already dated attraction (killing it's marketability) and Disney will have something new they can advertise as *NEW*. That's what they want.

Sounds good to me. Imagineering can do much better than Space Mountain.

The same goes for Marvel, in fact there are Marvel properties that would fit in Tomorrowland better than any currently released Pixar movie (including Wall-E). Let's be open to new things.

The Viewliner was only a year old when it was replaced. The Rocket Rods lasted about 3 years. Age has nothing to do with how long an attraction will last. If the subs are replaced it will most likely be capacity and maintenance costs driving the decision.

Seeing that the subs got a Pixar overlay is what leads me to believe it won't be going anywhere. Especially since a Finding Nemo sequel is in the works.

If Disney is going to keep Autopia, then it should become electric cars to get rid of the awful fumes and smell, made easier for kids to drive the vehicles where it's not required to apply 30 pounds of pressure on the pedals, and get some interesting theming (the scenery is quite plain and boring).

Since Walt never got to realize his original EPCOT, why not a miniature version for kids to drive through? Just electrify and redesign the cars and Autopia can still fit in Tomorrowland thematically.

Autopia should have been relocated to Cars Land and re imagined to fit the Cars theme. This would have been a much better attraction then Luigi's Flying Tires.

Well, I told them one day. I stood there and said, "Move Autopia over to the new Carsland. Get it? Autopia? Cars? Autopia? Cars? Get it? Do I have to bang your heads together or what? Design it into the infrastructure of Carsland so that it intertwines with the other attractions. In the same way Walt intertwined attractions - Pack Mules/Mine Train/Stagecoach/Conestoga Wagon - or Casey Jr./Canal Boats - or Autopia/PeopleMover/Monorail/Submarines - or 5 watercraft on the Rivers of America - or several ways to go up and down Main Street - that kind of thing. Walt started by creating a realm and then gave you several ways to experience that realm. Now you're creating a new realm; give the guests several ways to tour around it.

"Now here you are again. Give the guests a choice of ways to enjoy the new realm. Have the cars take you on a tour of Carsland, and intertwine in and around the other attractions. Make the cars electric of course, and each one modeled after a character in the Cars movies. Make the cars talk to you, too, saying funny things at random. Silly comments that are random or triggered by things you do. Are you guys getting the picture? Carsland Autopia. That's what I'm talking about. And make a junior version of it for the little ones. Then you'd have 4 moving attractions in Carsland... enough to base a land on a movie. Am I getting through to you guys at all?" ... Total silence. They just sat there sipping their Frappucinos and texting on their iPhones. I walked out without saying anything more. Somewhere in the distance, a mouse was crying.
