It's A Small World Christmas Wreaths

This year was my first time on Small World Christmas. It was so much fun. I became obsessed with the white wreaths with white and pink lights and jeweled/translucent colored ornaments. I decided it would be fun to try to recreate them. Needless to say finding all the parts and pieces was quite the adventure but in the end I think I managed to bring a lil bit of Small World home.

The Original from Small World and the final in my living room are below!

Re: It's A Small World Christmas Wreaths

When I saw the garlands/wreaths at Small World earlier this week, my first thought was "I bet I could make that!" Now you've totally inspired me to try. I'm hoping maybe I can find some materials on clearance after Christmas! Though I don't know if I've seen white wreaths/garland anywhere.

I would really love to make this one for my Canadian mother:

Anyway, THANK YOU FOR SHARING! They look GREAT!

Thank you everyone for the positive feedback. I'm not one for crafts so it was a bit daunting but in the end it was well worth it. I'd definitely suggest seeing what you can find on clearance right after the holiday. Even at wholesale it was not an inexpensive adventure. Standard places like Michaels and Target were of no help. I ended up securing most everything from the wholesale suppliers. The actual wreath was made from strands of white garland (which I also used to create the over hang) as I could not find a pre-made white wreath. Though I was able to find white and multi-colored lights on white wire at Target for 2.99 a strand. You can pull out whatever colors you need and place them on the white strand of lights to obtain the desired effect....and now I've turned into Martha Stewart xo

Awesome! I just made a Disneyland inspired wreath too. My mom got a plain one and told me to decorate it, so it turned into this:

Thanks! Gingerbread men are some of my favorite things about Christmas, they are just so cute. It was inspired by this one in Fantasyland: Name: 4104685501_13be669c70.jpg

Re: It's A Small World Christmas Wreaths

OMG I LOVE THE GINGERBREAD ONE! So now I'm thinking I need a Disneyland-inspired Christmas... Well, a Disneyland-inspired life in general would be great but one holiday at a time.

I made some Minnie ornaments and Star Wars paper snowflakes a couple weeks ago... I posted them here but I have no idea how to link threads.

Where did you get your white garland? I know you said wholesale... but could you provide more detail? I'm dying to give this a try!

the company listed on the garland itself is: Direct Export Company - Designer's Excellence
I purchased mine from gmfloral.com which is in the floral district downtown los angeles.
I did notice Do it Center (which is a hardware store - not sure if AZ has them) had similar (if not the same) garland pre-lit (though it cost twice as much - $50 per strand). It took me two strands per wreath. The Canadian wreath would probably need an extra strand as the outdoor wreaths they have around Fantasy Land are a bit fuller than the ones inside Small World to support all the additional ornaments and decorations. The tighter you pack the fuller it will be. Target has both white and multi-colored lights on white wire for 2.99 (probably on clearance now).
