I only had to knock down 3 or 4 little kids to get at Jingles. It wasn't easy. Those little guys can put up quite a fight!
Just kidding. Actually, I took that photo as everyone was getting off. it's been a long, LONG time since I've been able to actually ride Jingles for the actual ride.
I prefer the one that jumps.

Sometimes Dead Men DO Tell Tales!
For me, Jingles has even more personal connection since he's dedicated to Julie Andrews, and Mary Poppins is not only my favorite Disney movie, but Disney's best movie EVER.
Reportedly he was Lillian Disney's favorite horse, as well.
Too funny, SBK!!! I also, find Jingles special because of Julie Andrews and Mary Poppins (I'm watching The Sound of Music on tv now)!
And an interesting question has come up since we are all talking about the horses...are they male or female? Are there some of each?? I know that I think of Jingles as a girl, but I know there are some horses which have race car like symbols, so I think of those as boys. Hmmm, wonder if there is any definitive answer....
I never looked at the carousel horses that closely, but now I'll have to keep an eye out for King Richard.
I *do* like to ride a humpback whale on King Triton's Carousel of the Sea, though.
I want to ride a seahorse and whale on King Triton's Carousel - that was a pretty fun carousel ride!!
By coincidence I was browsing the Vintage Disneyland Tickets site and found Jingles in this 1985 Grad Nite brochure.

Just got done checking the list and was surprised that my favorite horse is simply called M.W. It's my favorite because I've always liked blue and yellow.
