    Favorite Carousel Horse?

Just curious if anyone has a favorite Carousel horse in Disneyland? I had heard that city hall has a list of the horses' name, but the only one I have heard of is Jingles. I have heard she is the "lead horse" (not sure what that means on a carousel) and she was dedicated to Julie Andrews during the 50th anniversary (correct me if I'm wrong)

On my last trip last week, I was determined to get my ride on Jingles. when I asked the CM, they told me she was away for refurb. Dang it. So my next trip is the end of February for Dapper Day.. Hoping to get a picture with her then.

Even if she's back on the ride, I don't know what she looks like... Anyone know her position? Any awesome CMs that I could talk to to help secure a seat?

Finally, Do any other have your favorite carousel horse for ANY reasons? I'm on a slight obsession with them right now, so please indulge me.

Happy trails, though they go in circles...!!

My favorite was indeed the one they did for Julie Andrews. I don't ride the carousel too often, but when I do, I try to get on that horse.

They did a beautiful job of decorating it for the tribute.
I was sad to see it gone when I was there awhile back.

Here is a link to the list of horse names and photos: King Arthur Carrousel Horses - FindingMickey.com. Jingles has ribbons of jingle bells hanging down from her/his harness and a hidden mickey on the front of the chest. Doubloon (gold tooth) was supposedly Lilian Disney's favorite horse and the one she rode whenever she was on the carousel.

I don't think I've ever actually seen her. I've been looking on my past few trips, which were pretty much all in the past few months, so I don't know if I've just been hitting it during her refurb or if I am just missing her because something shiny distracted me... the latter may be more likely.

Thank you for this link!! And I love that tidbit about Doubloon! Those little bits of information make the park SO fun for me - they give me more to make sure to see plus add even more meaning to the park. Thanks!!

Thanks to your link I now know that I rode King Richard on my last trip. Now it wasn't just some "random horse". SO FUN! THANK YOU!

Jingles is absolutely my favorite. I did notice she was gone recently, and I'm glad she's just away temporarily for a little nip n' tuck!

Gah!! I want to ride Jingles so bad!! Next trip... I'm determined!

It's really fun seeing what horses you've ridden and what their names are! Makes it extra special, I think.

Clara - I think Jingles was the gold horse - they painted her gold for the 50th (they show a pic on the link in this thread). I don't remember seeing her gold, I REALLY wish I had!!

They are afraid of new ideas.

They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon any reality, but based onÖ if something is new, I reject it immediately because itís frightening to me. What they do instead is just stay with the familiar.

Jingles!!!! She is the most popular one, so you really have to be toward the front of the line to get her. I see someone posted a good pic, when you are in line, she is to your left side about 1/3 of the way around, just behind bench seating, across from the entrance to Mr. Toad.

She has been missing for a while now, hope she comes back soon!!!!
