Re: Barbaraann's Countdown to DCA & Disneyland

I love Soarin. We will have to see if we can get on that.

I love the ferris wheel in DCA. Only the cars that don't move.

I'd love to hang out in Bugsland. It's more fun with a kid in the group. Although I won't do It's Tough To Be A Bug. No way! No creepy crawlies. I did that at WDW, and I hated it.

For example it rained last night out here and was raining when I left my house this morning (about 10 minutes from Disneyland) around 7:00am then about 9-10am it stopped. Did not rain again, It's been cloudy all day but not raining. Also the early morning rain does scare some people from going to Dsineyland. The best days for us to go is when it is light rain in the morning then it isn't as crowded and turns out to be a great day.

Nope, we don't do Tough to be a bug. He did that once and didn't like it. The non moving buckets on the Ferris wheel works for me. I've only done the moving ones once and never again.

But it is all your call. You are the "guest" as my kid and I can visit any other time because we live here.

Re: Barbaraann's Countdown to DCA & Disneyland

we spent the day at california adventure which we have never done before. It rained until about 10, then stopped a little after the park opened. I highly recommend a pancho over a raincoat as you can keep stuff dry under the pancho.

The park was extremely empty which was great. Radiator springs had a 30 minute wait around 11 am (hour after opening). We got fast passes for 2:45 so stayed in the park to wait for them. When we went to use our passes the single rider line had a 5 minute wait - basically you got up to the point right before they told you what line to wait in. The regular line was about 45 minutes and fast pass was about 10 minutes.

we ate at pacific wharf which has bouldin bakery sour dough bread bowls with clam chowder. This was pretty much the same as what you get in san francisco (which I love). DCA simply has much better food than disneyland.

Tower of terror which I had never been on had a 15 minute wait.

I have to go to vegas for the weekend but we will go to disney again on monday. Hopefully it will rain and there wont be any lines

Thanks for sharing your day with us.

I plan on spending the first hours of my trip at DCA, and I will end the night watching the Disneyland fireworks.

My Internet is super slow at Dolphin's Cove where I am stagings. I just have my iPad, so pics will have to wait til I get home. I had a super great first day. I guess it's going to rain again today, but that won't stop me.

I just checked the weather at Disneyland. 40% chance of rain today, 30% chance of rain tomorrow, then the rain should be finished. I'll hope for good weather for you.

But even if it rains, the crowds should be lighter.
