I would say it's likely. CA law requires 10% of new building must go solely to ADA requirements. 400,000 for an elevator? Maybe, if there aren't any other major ADA violations. But, regardless, you can be sure accessibility will be improved.

same for the fireworks at WDW, it's cheaper but their fireworks are a lot bigger than ours!
CA building codes are much more stringent than most states. Just the section on earthquake complience can increase costs up to fifty percent, and increase the build time. Then there is the requirements of the ADA. When an attraction goes though a major refurbishment such as this it has to be brought up to the codes current of the time of the work done. This can require major reconfigurations to the attraction.

Seriously Wiggins...could we have a thread about the refurb without that?

Looking forward to see what they do, though that backstory queue enhancement stuff with "Definately not Tony Baxter", is only for WDW correct?
There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

That's what engineers themselves always think until they learn what's wrong with the new stuff. Not everything that has revolutionized consumer product mass manufacturing scales to large, one-off projects anyway.

As for tools, could the layout of the Jungle Cruise, for example, have been designed more efficiently using modern CAD software, as opposed to Harper Goff tracing it in the dirt with a stick?

They could build things just as good, but it would cost more. They could also build things even better than before, but that would cost a lot more still.

I hear they're putting in Maggie's Moo-Moo Train Thru Big Thunder Mountain, just in time for the 10th anniversary of Home on the Range in 2014.

I believe that the budget was about $100 million for the two Mermaid clones, DCA's version being about $40-50 million. Wasn't Midway Mania in the range of $35 million or so?

The good news is the new ride vehicles will support an improved restraint system for children or the weight challenged. In related news the new ride vehciles will support morbidly obese riders with greater focus on saftey.

Didn't know about the exact time for a referb. Good thing me and my daughter went on it Thursday. Now as a dad, I have to break the news to her that her favorite ride will be closed and she will be quite upset too. But that's life.

Yes, just a joke . If it were true, I'd be raising a huge protest!

But I did wonder if the filmmakers were thinking of it, with the minecar chase, runaway train and the presence of a goat.
