Some of my older Disney collectibles

These were fun to collect from Coke bottle. There was a thin plastic film over each pic that had to be peeled away. Can't remember what prizes were awarded for the promotion.

I believe I got these from the Tahitian Terrace back in the day. Some still have suger in them!

I have a question about this in another thread, but I believe it is from the Disneyland Hotel. (I will edit this if that proves not to be factual)

Mickey Viewmaster and some of the reels. Used to spend a lot of time looking through those reels!

Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!

Very nice! I used to want the Mickey Viewmaster but I just had the plain red one.

The sugar packets were on the tables in the restaurant for individual use. There were the different Disneyland scenes on one side the the C&H logo on the other. As you might be able to see, the characters are quite different than they look today. I believe these were in the late 1960's or early 1970's. The Tahitian Terrance was in the same location as Aladdin's is today. Wonderful polynesian food and hula dancers and fire-dancers who would come out of a waterfall in the back (Jungle Cruise side).

Do you, by chance, remember the decade? Were they early 1970?

That is a vague question for a very large topic. Which collectibles do you need light shed on?

Now that the sugar packets have been explained (totally thought they were large paper posters), mind explaining the promotion with the Coke bottle caps? I actually do know what a Viewmaster is and I'm assuming the slides were found in stores, so I think that's covered. :P

From what I gather it was a promotion in the 1960's, but I don't think the promotion was for anything other than advertisement for the park and specific attractions (ie: Swiss Family Treehouse, etc). Sometimes they would do contests where if you collected (x) amount of bottle caps, you could redeem them and win a prize. Coke used to do this pretty often with baseball teams and other sports as well. If you look online there are some floating around eBay, some are pretty neat.
