    Is it logistically possible yes.

Should it be done? No way!!!

That's probably because it is the best solution for that space.

Actually, they could make the entrance across from Thunder Mountain where Cascade Peak used to be. The line could then go under the river and emerge at a load station on the island.

It is broken now. A thrill ride isn't the answer though. Restoring its former glory is.

Why does everything have to be a thrill ride?
If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Doesn't Disneyland Paris's Big Thunder Mountain start on the mainland, go underwater, then come back up on the island? That seems like it could work.
    Fear of the unknown.

They are afraid of new ideas.

They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon any reality, but based onÖ if something is new, I reject it immediately because itís frightening to me. What they do instead is just stay with the familiar.
You know, to me, the most beautiful things in all the universe, are the most mysterious.

It could work if it was something like an elevator mine shaft drop ride. And it would probably give me a reason to visit the island again.

There is nothing wrong with talking about it. The park in France has one on their island. It is just not what the island at Disneyland was created for. In addition, Disneyland is not just about thrill rides. Yes, it has some. That isn't the type of ride that the park is based on. That is why the popular opinion here is that the island isn't really a place for that type of ride.

Re: Could they fit a thrill ride on Tom Sawyer's Island?

There may be plenty of room just west of BTMRR and a crossover/under to the "island". But a birds eye view would show there's as much real estate as any other attraction...
logistically, I have not a clue what is in/on that real estate. It doesn't look to interfere with the fantasmic stage.
Lets say there is nothing...just dirt and trees...
i can see maybe a mark twain inspired or early America inspired thrill ride. Or break the theme and do something magical.
A coaster of course would be the simplest design for the location and a great way to "cross" the river high above the boats...
The load in could happen opposite BTMRR.

    Thats my thought.

I will respectfully disagree. Thrill rides have been filling parks. One of the most popular rides in the park IS a thrill ride. Space Mountain. Has been for years.

so, as I posted, I think the island area would be a great place for a new thrill.
