I remember seeing a Disney video of the machinists and techs going through the ride after-hours, and they're in knee-deep water at the most in most parts of the ride.

So I talked to my cousin about it again, and she confirms that a boat did sink.

At first this seemed like a story I can really sink my teeth into. But the lack of solid evidence made the report a bit fishy. All of a sudden everybody started going overboard with the puns. I admit I started Kracken up as I read them. I'm afraid that this rumor holds no water. It appears somebody tried to float the op a whopper and he bit hook, line and sinker.

Honestly if a boat sank in Pirates and guests were wading in water...don't you think the news would say something about it? I can't find anything on the news about this...

So maybe your cousin needs to clarify "sink" with "people being evacuated out of boats".....

Okay, so the cast members had to pull their boat to a safe area for unloading, and as they were being evacuated, one of the cast members explained that a boat was "underwater" and stuck in its position.
