Re: Disney's MagicBand wrist band to replace paper tickets

And I almost forgot, this would save a lot of paper and plastic being used on the tickets... but I guess it might add just as much to the landfill with the wristbands, depending on what they're made of/durability. Which kindof brings up the question, won't wristbands for EVERY guest cost a lot for Disney with little to no benefit to the bottom line?

well in all honesty I don't know what the policy is. I have never lost a room key the two times I've stayed at one of the hotels and I have an AP.

Not if they upcharge you for a special designer bracelet. Not if by tracking you, they can get you to spend more money.

The older I get, the more amazed I am at what modern technology can do. That's not to say, I like everything that is new and inventive. Let's just say, I like being in control.

Yeah, congrats to a Disney-owned company for getting that "scoop" on Disney Parks news. Such incredible journalistic acumen.

There will be a photo on file, which is why there's a cast member holding a tablet. So, if someone steals it, the photo won't match.

I think the whole goal here is to make things faster and easier. You don't need to have a card to enter, a card for photopass, tickets for fastpasses, and card keys for your hotel room.

Oh, you know, the usual: run around like a chicken with its head cut off, because there IS no backup plan.

There's got to be a backup plan. If they were smart enough, there should be an alternative solution if a situation arises. This should be a part of the planning processes along with figuring out how to make the system as redundant as possible.

How is this creepy? It's just like those people who wear their tickets on a lanyard. This will just have more convenient capabilities.

"You can cut me off from the civilized world. You can incarcerate me with two moronic cellmates. You can torture me with your thrice daily swill, but you cannot break the spirit of a Winchester. My voice shall be heard from this wilderness and I shall be delivered from this fetid and festering sewer."
