For one, it's a shot of Walt when he wasn't smiling. You don't see too many of those. You can see from this photo alone that if Walt was displeased, you'd feel it. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy you'd want to irritate.

Another fascinating thing is that you can BARELY make out some color in this shot, whereas the rest of the photos seem to be black & white. Not sure if these are from different camera rolls or not, but the fact that the color film has faded so much over the years indicate that it was probably Eastmancolor film stock, which had a TERRIBLE fading problem. I bet seeing this event in brilliant original color was really something, though. What an amazing era that was.

If you hadn't called out Yvonne DeCarlo and William Bendix I wouldn't have recognized them. Thanks!

When I had this film converted from film stock to DVD, the technician told me it was color stock but that it had badly faded. There are shots from the film that still have some color in them....like the frame posted here in which you pointed out. I'll try and find some more that also have color in them.

BTW-when I spoke with the Wrather children (now obviously adults) they mentioned that Walt Disney was not at this event for long. From what I heard, it was less than an hour. I have probably 200 photographs (guessing) of this event and there is only two with Walt in them.

I would also like to get a lip reader that could decipher exactly what Walt is saying in the clip. He's only on camera for the close-up a few seconds but he does say quite a few words. I did post this entire video segment on another thread in MiceChat several months ago. Perhaps somebody can look it up and tell us what he says???

I'm not a lip reader, but here's the link to the post with the video in it -
