Guess who just became annual pass holders?! This family right here! We've talked about it for years, but this year we actually did it. We spent five wonderful days in the parks, but we didnt worry about squeezing everything into what time we had, because we'll be back in a few weeks ... because we have annual passes!!
I beat cancer this year, and our first trip back was an emotional for me. I must have cried a thousand times over the silliest things. At first I felt ridiculous, but then I thought that I cant possibly be the only one. Im sure CMs see a lot of happy tears throughout the day. I was just so happy to be there again. I think I may have recognized some people from these boards. Whats the protocol there? Walk up & say, "Hi! I recognize you!" Is that creepy?
The weather was great! It was cool and mostly sunny all week. The crowds were totally tolerable, as expected for the first week after the holiday madness. The longest line we waited in was a 20-30 minute fastpass line for RSR. There were tons of characters and street performers, and we even got in a few leftover holiday treats.
Buena Vista Street is exciting and beautiful, and Cars Land is a really neat addition to DCA. I was expecting healthier choices at Fillmores Taste-In, but hearing Johnny Cash & Bob Dylan did my heart just as good. The new set work (is that what you would call it?) is AMAZING! If I had a better camera, I could have spent three days photographing every minute detail.
And how did I never know about the strawberry/brownie kabob at Paradise garden Grill?!
So the first trip of the year is over, and we've begun planning #2 in February. And we can do that with confidence, because we have annual passes!
What an odd mix of characters! Playing Ring Around the Rosey, we have Alice and her gang, the Wicked Queen from Snow White, Bert from Mary Poppins, and the Disneyland Marching Band. Strange, right? Glad I caught that.
