Lightbulb Replace Captain Eo with Alien Encounter?

I had a fun time with Captain Eo, but it's time for something a little more exciting that's just as original. I think Alien Encounter will be very successful in SoCal, seeing as we have a big Halloween-ish culture here and plenty of thrill-seekers. Weren't there plans to bring Alien Encounter to Disneyland?

If there are concerned parents here who wouldn't want such a scary attraction year-round, how about the Stitch overlay during the summer season?

    Thoughts?

Yes! Sign me up! That ride scared the crap out of me as a kid and it was awesome! But leave the Stitch overlay out of it.

I had always believed the assumption that it closed because it was deemed "too non-Disney," but it's also interesting to note that it closed shortly after Jeffery Jones was convicted of certain crimes.

Not the Stitch version, please. I had too much of that during my last Disney World trip. My 5 year old loves it and it is torture for parents.

I'm just thinking... is there enough space for it in the EO Theatre? Seems like it would be pretty cramped to me...

Building on the Encounter idea, why not make it related to Wall-E? There's been a lot of interest in adding Wall-E into Tomorrowland since it really does take place in the future. It could go full-Epcot style and tie in a lesson about taking care of our planet.

Anyway, there could be screens with the Captain trying to convince the Axiom to return to earth, etc. Dark elements could include Eve shooting at the Axiom's controls, "gravity" manipulation, and Wall-E running around, perhaps bumping into some people.

    I like the wall-e idea!

When I was an older kid, I went on Alien Encounter. My mom sat next to me, and just as the attraction was about to start, my mom started to panic and ran out of the room. Leaving me and my brother behind: I have never felt terror like that. Not only was it frightening, but add in the whole "my mom just abandoned me on this super scary ride!" I think I'd like it as an adult, but I think it is too scary for kids.

The stitch ride is fine, but I wish they could get rid of the stinky breath part. That made me sick to my stomach. I doubt wall-e would make nasty doritos burps.

I loved the original Alien Encounter and wish it would come back (not Stitch, thank you): it was originally configured for the layout of Mission To Mars at DL, as it was in Magic Kingdom, but we got Redd Rocket's in that space instead.

It won't happen, realistically, but I'd love having ExtraTERRORestrial out here.

I am going to have to throw in a vote for Stitch..

Well I loved the Stitch ride at WDW, but I vote for Wall-E I think that totally fits into Tomorrowland. It could go 4D like Bugs Life and have the fire extinguisher scene spew some water at the audience.

Definitely no thank you to Wall E. Tomorrowland is supposed to be about a brighter more postitve future. Not the dystopian vision portrayed in Wall E.

Its kinda upsetting WDW gets all these rides and stuff that DL doesn't get. DL is the original! They should pay special attention to it.

I never did Captian Eo or Alien Encounter. Captain Eo seems...bleh to me. Even if it is a classic. I never cared for MJ and his thing for children. I do admit, he was very talented at what he did. He was the King of Pop. And I am sorry to see Michael go. BUT Alien Encounter, I think, is far better after watching videos of it on YouTube. I want it at DL or CA!
