Going to the park for the first time in two years.

Walking down the busy, bustling Main St. and seeing Cinderella Castle in the distance.

Getting my first pair of mouse ears, ever.

Riding Space Mountain for the first time in six years.

Seeing Mickey and friends climbing the Matterhorn.

Sitting down at the French Market and having some soup at the French Market for the first time.

Running towards IASW to see the projections on it during Remember...

Sitting down on a bench around the hub while eating a churro.

Walking down the illiminated Main St. at park closing, not wanting to leave.

Spending the whole day with my friends and family.

Re: What Is Your Top Ten DL List for 2005?

There were so many literally once in a lifetime experiences
this past year, that it is impossible to narrow it down to
just 10 specific things, so , several on my list encompass
several days. And of course among so many of these items,
are the trips to DL where I have had a chance to meet up
with so many terrific Micechatters!!! It's been so much fun
to get to know you in person at DL, and fun to learn that so
many of us go WAY back to A.D.D. ! So, to all the wonderful
people I've been fortunate to meet during 2005, here's to 2006!

(Although with all the terrific things, that have occurred during
2005, and the whole 50th celebration, it was certainly sad to
say goodbye to the Golden Year! Yeah, you and I know DL will
continure to celebrate through most of 2006, but for me, the
50th year celebration began when the calendar hit 2005, and
    went buh-bye, when 2006 arrived.)

Now for that Top Ten List of Mine! (with possibilities of changes
as my memory may bring back additional experiences)

    10. New Years Eve 2004 - New Years Day 2005
and New Years Eve 2005 -New Years Day 2006

being at DL at the beginning and closing of 2005, the special 50 year.
both were wet and rainy but thankfully quit so the fireworks could join
in the celebrations. And of course one of the highlights for Christmas
2005 was the Christmas Tree on Main Street with all the gold ornaments
and lights! And New Years Eve 2005 DL, the traditional confetti party hats gave way to the more classy Black plastic top hats with gold print!

and this does tie with the Sept 30th, 2005. 5pm Good Riddance Party to Michael Eisner! Ding Dong the witch is dead, and contrary fears that eisner would hang around endlessly on the Board, he quietly exited! Thank goodness!

    9. Seeing my new DL Brick with the gold 50th medallion in the esplanade just prior to the beginning festivities of DL's 50th Celebration on May4th-5th!. Yeah, just like quite a few others here, this was the year for me to get my brick in the esplanade. I didn't think it would really become an event for me every time I would visit the park, but that's was it has become! Just before arriving, I did recieve my lucite copy (although very late) As I was visiting with some micechatters at the Cove Bar, my cell phone rang, It was a representative from the walk of memories, wanting to know if I had recieved my lucite copy of the brick. Told her, her timing was perfect, as I had recieved it just a couple days before, and had just seen the actual brick in the esplanade!

    8. Being a Jungle Cruise Guide! During the first couple of days of 2005, the weather was continually rainy, I ended up being on the last cruise of the evening, of which I was the only guest! The skipper asked me if I wanted to drive thru with or without the speil! I exclaimed "I would Like to do the tour!" She obliged and said after Indy, she would give me the microphone! OMG!!!! that was one of the best experiences I have ever had at DL!!!!! And for someone that considers themselves the King of Adventureland, well, that was a DL dream come true!

    7. On July 14th, as part of an extended tour for the Magical Memories Event, I was fortunate enough to be part of the tour that saw the unveiling of DL's star on the walk of fame in Hollywood in front of the Disney Ice Cream Parlor! One of the most spectacular unveilings, with
nearly 40 Disney character present! Then that was followed by lunch at
    Walt's favorite restaurant.

    6. On July 16th, 2005, the Magical Memories event final evening together, had a dinner and show for us in Festival Arena with live orchestra and what had to be at least 50 different performers on stage in the center of the arena. This was, bar none, the absolute BEST show I have ever witnessed in DL! This show brought to life Tinkerbell, stage performances from the Tahitian Terrace, the Golden Horseshoe Can Can gals, Main Street USA performers, and even brought "to life" the family from the Carousel of Progress, and re united 4 of the Original Mouseketeers, all intertwined with Video segements of Uncle Walt Introducing these various areas to us! This show left all of us astounded!

    5. At the July 16th evening event, the 4 Mousketeers in attendance announced they would be back in October to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Mickey Mouse Club! and so, on the 1st Monday in October I became part of the Worlds Largest set of Mickey Mouse Ears! along with 10 of the original Mouseketeers. Also met up with several Mouse chatters! and and enjoyed breakfast in Festival Arena, in our newly adorned free Black Mickey Mouse Ears, Black Shirts with Mickey Mouse Club Sticker and Gold Pom Poms. One of the funniest things I have ever seen in Fantasyland. . . hundreds of adults all dressed in black with gold pom poms! With the Lack of crowds in Fantastyland, this also allowed me the opportunity to ride Jingles, the Gold carrousel hourse in my black beatnik mouse gear! One of my all time favorited DL pictures!

    4. One Date for this item 05-05-05 ~ the official opening of the beginning of DL's 50th celebration event! Ok, this item number really
encompasses 5-3 thru about 5-7. Finally rid of the 45th parade! Hooray! Checking out all the new murals (unfortunately my pics were NOT used) Looking for the not so hidden 50th Mickeys. Trying to find as much of the 50th stuff on the5-3 as possible and riding the Jungle Cruise with the new additions!! and Pirates with the new Splashes, learning from the fortunate few who were able to enter DL on 5-4 that the crowns were still not on the Castle, and then on 5-5-05 getting into position to see the opening ceremonies, BOOING EISNER ON 5-5-5!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, THAT was definitely a highlight, and I am proud to be in that large group of people who weren't afraid to express our feeling about eisner! Then seeing the opening events, tring to ride on as many gold vehicles as possible, getting a DL 50th Leather Jacket!!!!!!! This was truly one of the most memorable trips to DL EVER!!!

    3. Club 33! This was the Year for my 1st Club 33 visit, which also paved the way for several other Club 33 visits! (sadly, I no longer have this connection to 33, but) I will certainly look fondly upon the 1st trip to 33 at a breakfast meet in January. I was total tourist, and gawking at everything in the Club, even able to take some pics in the trophy room! Amazing experience, then a few months later, I was able to eat lunch there, under more normal circumstances, even get tour of the club, and able to eat there one more final time on July 18th. Hopefully some other windows of opportunity will open up in the future. Until then, these will continue to be some of the most appreciated visits in DL! Thanks to people who made these visits possible!! Also thanks, to the friend who was able to obtain the Club 33 ears for me!!!

    2. Of course, the most anticipated event in DL this year was 7-17-05! As already mentioned, I was able to be part of the 50 Years of Magical Memories! This event lasted from 7-15-05, covered seminars, a Taste of Disney, an Auction, a Couple Different Lunches, at which one Bingo Games were held and I WON THE BLACKOUT BINGO! Attend the artist signing events, met Diane Disney Miller, had a Panelist Q and A of Disney Legends, was able to pre purchase the "I was there Pin". Recieved a special certificate from Matt, and one of the best things, the free Gold Mouse Ears and eating breakfast in New Orlean Square at the French Market BEFORE THE PARK OPENED to the public!!!! Getting to be amoung the first to purchase DAY OF merchandise, and Seeing the ceremony in front of the Castle. Lunch at Blue Bayou eating cupcakes, several meets, eating more cupcakes, Really the MOST amazing day at DL.

but there is one other item above that?

    1. Visiting Walt's Apartment ~ YES! on mothers day 2005, I was invited to visit Walt's Apartment! (pictures were not allowed) but the experience of being able browse around the apt, and be a part of it's history is something that is simply, very special.

Please feel free to start a new topic for that question.
(besides you can judge that dependending where someone
places those dates/events on their own top 10, on the other
hand some people were not present on both dates)

Leave this one for Top Ten DL Experiences for 2005
