Don't you think DCA's Aladdin deserves mention in the "Aladdin Broadway" announ. ?

Sure it will be a completely re-staged show, with a great big budget, but in the section of this story (link below) where Mr. Schumacher discusses how they will be able to do the Genie in a medium other than film...it's like umm.... they've been doing that several times a week in DCA. It's like they are choosing to sweep the DCA version under the rug and act like it hasn't happened...not a very professional way to treat all of the talented folk who have worked on, or still work on, that show:

I think the problem is that this is a press release from a Broadway News writer and not an official Disney News Announcement. He may have never been to Disneyland to see the show. But i bet once Aladdin is on Broadway Disney will remind people to see the original in Disneyland.

Does it deserve mention? Yes. Would Disney jeopardize the success of a Broadway show by making this obvious? No. Marketing this fact could be a detriment to the success of the Broadway production so it could be Disney who is suppressing this information to the press.

Like with any 'new' productions I'm guessing the production team want to be fresh and new and have their own take on the source material.

From what I can gather, this full-length version of this Aladdin show debuted in Seattle last year. And from the reviews I've read, it sounds like DCA's version is so much better.

How can Disney steal from itself? I think you mean cloned, not stolen. But as mentioned before, this is something much more than a production that plays over and over again in a theme park. This one will probably have a working flying carpet.
