I think an even more viable example in Southern California would be the Earthquake scene of the Studio Tour! I remember many years ago when it opened, there was concern of it "hitting too close to home" with some of the locals who have lived through terrible earthquakes. I guess the point is most people are able to separate theme parks from reality and very few take the content of attractions as a personal attack on hardships from their past, however terrible they were.
