What is the Best Strategy to ride RSR on AP Early Entry Saturday?

O.K. Sometimes I don't pay attention when I should.

Tomorrow my vacation starts, and I will be purchasing an AP. I understand that on Saturday, I will be able to enter DCA one hour early, which will be 8 a.m, if I am reading the calendar correctly.

Simple question. What should my plan of action be so that I can ride Radiator Racers?

As soon as they let people in, make a beeline for the ride.

Is it just going to be you Barbaraann? If so, I would use the single rider line whenever you want to ride RSR.
If you have others with you, get to the main turnstiles early (30 minutes before opening). If there is a rope at the end of BVS get on the right side (as far as you can ) and stay there down through Cars Land. It will stop right at the entrance to RSR. Before the EMH is up (about 10-15 minutes left), get in the FP line for another ride later on.

This may be a dumb question, but when can you begin to use the fastpass machine?

The FP's will not be available until regular park opening.
My suggestion above was to enjoy the EE, but 10-15 minutes before it is up, get in the RSR FP line (located in It's Tough to be a Bug). You can probably ride it standby when you get there, and then get a FP for later.

From my experience with the previous AP early entry in the summer, they won't have FP available during early entry. So you pretty much want to get to the gates about 30 min early, and walk really fast to RSR.

How is the crowd for AP EE at DCA?

This will be my first morning in the park. I arrive tomorrow afternoon from Chicago for a 10 trip, so I'll have one more chance to do an early entry in DCA, and many other mornings to explore the rest of the parks. I really want to ride Radiator Racers, and get that out of the way, so it doesn't monopolize my vacation, trying to get on the ride.
