Would you like Jazz bands back on the Mark Twain?

For those that may be too young to remember, Disneyland used to have Jazz musicians on the Mark Twain at night (virtually impossible with Fantasmic now..) and serve refreshments on board. The bands ranged from lesser known groups to big name (at the time) acts:


Would you, especially when Fantasmic is down, like to see the return of Jazz on the Mark Twain at night?

I will start and say yes, absolutely.

I would like more jazz music everywhere. Does that band still play on the raft before Fantasmic? I loved that.

Absolutely yes. "Disneyland after Dark" is one of my favorite Wonderful World of Color episodes.

Yes! But maybe they could take a couple of unannounced rides a day as the first ones on the boat and the last ones off, and maybe they could let the recorded spiel take over for part of the more woodsy, native-American portion. A couple of rides a day would make it special, like when you see a character on a ride. I'd like the band (a quartet?) to face out and play for people on the shore from Frontierland through the Hungry Bear.

And the Mark Twain could have a small plaque recording that the King of Jazz, Louis Armstrong, performed here on . . .1965? I saw the 10th anniversary show where he played on the Mark Tawin (and Julie Andrews performed as Mary Poppins in front of the castle), but the photo above of Satchmo looked like it might have been in the Golden Horseshoe theater.

I misread the thread title thinking it said "Jazz hands" and I immediately thought, "Yes! More jazz hands everywhere!" But ooohhhh, jazz bands. Yes, I am still for it.

As a band member whose currently working on a jazz concert.....of course I'm all for it!!!! I love how jazz influence all the smaller shows at Disneyland are. Five and Dime, Straw Hatters, Hook and ladder even the Pearly and Disneyland Bands!!! Who else would even forget the Royal Street Bachelors and Jambalaya Jazz band! I'd love to see these bands back on the Mark Twain and maybe even some appropriate periodic streetmosphere.

I voted yes. Like Frollofan said it would bring crowds in. Having a jazz band play after Fantasmic would be phenomenal! I Imagine being able to dine & dance in the night on the Mark Twain listening to live jazz and swing!

Wouldn't be a bad idea if they also had some country music played live at, well, maybe Fantasyland Theater, since there's no theater in Frontierland.

And bring back good rock music to Tomorrowland, too.

If Disney were smart, they could have country bands play in the Old Hunchback area or even in Big Thunder Ranch.

Yes! Maybe they can make it a limited time magic thing to see the reaction they get from fans.

They have bands play there still. I have seen quite a few live bands playing from there recently.
