Why was Primeval World never made into it's own attraction?

I'm just curious, the Magic Skyway attraction from the 1964-1965 World's Fair was only included in the Disneyland Railroad show rooms and not the whole attraction at that. Why wasn't it made into a solo attraction, like a dark ride in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland or something?

Well, the Ford Magic Skyway was sponsored by Ford, who didn't want to continue the sponsorship. For another thing, Walt wasn't very happy with the way the animatronics turned out on the cavemen, so that didn't get included either.

The attraction was a big advertisement for Ford, after all...

It at least led to the creation of the Peoplemover, so you did get two attractions from it.

In a way, Primeval World did become its own attraction. Look at Universe of Energy at Epcot. The Dinosaur diorama is essentially a remake with different placements of dinos and some additions and ommisions.

And the cavemen were re-auditioned and became many of the pirates.

Good call about the Universe of Energy. That was pretty cool! And at DL, it kind of is...it's mentioned as part of the train ride.

Nice piece of trivia there glad to see I wasn't the only geek who knew that one.

    because it's boring?

i mean, at the time, i think what we see on the train is pretty much what we would've gotten from a dark ride.

I rode on the original Magic Skyway attraction at the 1964-1965 World's Fair. You sat in actual Ford automobiles (with convertible tops) as you rode through the ride. It was the introduction of Audio-Animatronics and it was awe-inspiring (along with Mr. Lincoln at the Illinois State Pavilion and It's A Small World sponsored by Pepsi).
