The main point I am trying to drive home here is that a few more options, even if it's only Coke products, wouldn't hurt.
Mr. Pibb is Dr. Pepper without the medical degree.
No, this is not the way it works. Pepsi and Coke have different business models. Coke basically gives away its product to restaurants, theme parks, schools, etc. to increase market share so that people will get used to their product and then buy it at the store. Pepsi charges the same institutions more because they expect to make a profit on their product. That is also why the number of large places & chains that serve only Pepsi products keeps dwindling, since those owners would basically be fools to pay more for one product than another when both sell virtually identically.
I prefer Coke to Pepsi (as do most others here based on that poll from a few months ago), but I understand why some people would want it in the park (or have both Coke and Pepsi like the old days).
For the life of me I cannot see why anyone would want Denny's in Disneyland. The food tastes bad and is generally bad for you. It's the kind of place you have to eat at because it is the only place open.
Sorry I was thinking of Cactis Coolar. Mr. Pib is Coke.
I could see Disney make a partnership more with 7up or Naked opossed with Pespi any time soon. Since Knots last time I was there was Pespi they don't want mixed brands.
In SoCal, Dr. Pepper in bottles is distributed by coke. I don't know who has the rights to it by fountain.
All I do know is La Brea Bakery has Dr. Pepper, and its the only place in the resort with it.
Although I prefer Pepsi, I'm just fine with having Coke in the parks. I don't drink either frequently, anyway.
Denny's in Disneyland would be a disaster. The food is not good and no one wants to see a Denny's inside Disneyland. Horrible idea. IHOP's food is way better, but putting an IHOP in Disneyland is also a bad idea. Let's keep these restaurants outside of the parks.
The park food options need a lift. I ate at Redd Rocket's last weekend and...I have no idea WHAT happened but I don't ever remember it tasting like giant, stale, cheesy, stale, slathered with bland sauce. I felt like I was eating a french bread pizza from elementary school...
The whole Coke/Pepsi debate: I like both, but Coke is a little easier on the taste buds compared to Pepsi. The texture sits better for me and seems to keep the flavor, but I need to kick the habit and start hydrating with water more (Disneyland is my vice for soda splurging...so good!)
However, it seems to do well for Disney and well, I wouldn't change it. I would definitely like to see some better dining options because I find myself exiting and going to DTD for dinner or lunch. I don't know about Denny's though...maybe they could prop up Flo's V8 Cafe but I liked the food when I first had it. I'm not a big fan of Denny's BUT if they could pull it off and integrate it, then I'd see...but I'll leave that to the big wigs.
Speaking of Mr Pibb. It bugs me it's not in the parks I love it so much:D
As far as having Pepsi in the parks Disney would have no reason to want to do this with the current setup they have with coke. I am sure when they negotiate Disney reminds them they can always bring Pepsi in hence keeping their deal the same. Where Disney doesn't get charged for the product they sell and Coke remains the only choice.
