Re: Two new hotels to be built at the Harbor-Katella intersection.

Most Walgreens and CVS have almost full-fledged grocery stores in them now with the exceptions of a few things. So at least if they have both of those as an option and 7-11, theres plenty of easy "grocery" options nearby.

I'd assume that for the Jolly Roger they will be taking over the restaurant that has sat abandoned for years.

As for the other corner... what was said above is probably part of it.

All I have to say about both of those is, good riddance. I've stayed at the Red Lion and had to walk past them constantly, so I'd much rather see some nice hotels.

They should demolish Zaby's. I stayed there 10 years ago and woke up to mice crawling over me. They set up traps while I was at the park and when I got back to the hotel there was 3 baby mice and a large cockroach stuck to the sticky paper.
Left that day for a new hotel, and advise people to stay away.

Little and broken, but still good.

Wow... I've never stayed there, but it looks pretty bad from the outside. I'm looking forward to seeing that place go.

Very, very poorly. College educations (beauty college and DeVry don't count) amongst the locals living in central Anaheim are about as rare as unicorns.

The Jolly Roger restaurant is closed? I loved that place as a kid. Bummer.

Someone had mentioned a "Fresh and Easy" as a replacement, but as of April F&E will cease to be in business. Many of them are being replace by Dollar General's.

The Marriott property will be a great spot and be a middle type property between the Anaheim Marriott and the Fairfield inn. ( I worked for Marriott for 14 years)

I would imagine the drug stores would eliminate the need for any of the small "in-house" convenience/sundry markets for the hotels. A far better offering of toothbrushes, deodorant, laundry detergent...not to mention a decent stock of some grocery items. It makes sense, although a legitimate supermarket in the area would be nice.

Either way, I'll be glad for more hotel options within walking distance.
